Great trail with moderate to light use in some parts and heavy use in other parts. Difficult to figure out where to park at the south side entrance- we ended up parking in a preschool parking lot (it was a holiday) after getting yelled at by a resident for parking on a residential street (there were no signs saying one couldn't park there). Lots of pleasant surprises along the way, including a portion off-trail where local kids had put in some bike jumps and a rope swing near the river. Also a playground with swings (poorly maintained/weeds but safe), and in the portion after the school (almost to downtown Bedninster), there is a "challenge course" with pipes to try to climb and slanted monkey bars, etc. Highly recommended for a family of all ages willing to do an almost 6-mile...
Read morelegit could not find the entrance to the trail. we went to the address that was listed with this link and ended up in some private development. then we read the website that said it was on the corner of elm and main and it was indeed not there. then we drove down elm and found a park and pulled in there. we finally found the sign for the trail but once we went down that path 100 feet we ended up at school and of course it was right during dismissal and there were children and cars everywhere and no sign of a continued path so we just gave up and left. it looked beautiful from the pics online tho lol. wish we could of done it. either we suck at directions or that was just unnecessarily difficult to find. please add a direct location of where to start for us...

If you enter from the south end of the trail (in burnt mills park) the trail begins with a long downhill slope that could’ve seriously injured me on my roller skates. Bikers could probably be fine starting there but if you are on skates or skateboard I would recommend starting with the other end of the trail. Starting on the south end is downhill for parts of it but many flat sections. It was enjoyable to skate, I would enjoy walking it and the scenery is lovely. Just be careful, the downhill slopes can sneak up on you on wheels! Starting on the other end of the trail would be more uphill and safer if you...
