My experience with David (a/k/a Advanced TV) was awesome! One day my 2-year-old TV just suddenly wouldn't turn on. I found Advanced TV online and I read the good reviews so I emailed them. Even though it was the evening, David emailed me back and set up a time to come by. He came by my place (which was really convenient because it's a bigger TV) and said he would charge $75 to come by and diagnose the issue BUT that $75 would go toward any fix if he did one. He came by, was very efficient & pleasant, diagnosed that a board in the TV wasn't working, and said he would try and fix the board and if he couldn't he would let me know the options. (He took the board with him.) It turned out he couldn't repair the board himself so he ordered a replacement one. He came over again, put in the replacement board, and the TV works again! (He even told me before replacing the board that if the replacement board hadn't fixed the issue he could return it so I wouldn't have to pay for it.) All told, I got the TV fixed for about 25% the price of a new one. David could not have been more helpful! He kept me up to date the whole way and was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Read moreI have a 10 year old Sony that had broken a second time (the first time was about 5 years ago) and knew a replacement TV would cost me a pretty penny. I saw the review on Dave and knew he was worth a call. Even his bad reviews describe him as a hero. I told him the make, model and error code (number of flashes on the front LED). He was very familiar with the problem and told me he could come by and fix it for a very reasonable price (much less than $200). He came and showed me that the chip he needs to replace had already been swapped out by the previous repairman. That chip didn't work, so Dave replaced the next most likely chip. After some more diagnosis, he asked if he could take the board back to his shop for a more detailed look. I asked if this was going to impact the price (he said no). Upon returning, the re-worked board still wouldn't power up the picture tube, so Dave swapped my board with one of his own (all for the quoted price). He was very professional expressed regret that he couldn't fix it within 20 minutes. I don't expect him to have a crystal ball, and am thrilled with the price and service. He's the guy to call...
Read moreKinda feel like I got scammed by this guy he came to my apt, I paid my 75 deposit and he took a look at the tv told me it was irreparable because they no longer make my tv panel or something like this then he told me he would go home and look to see if he had the part he went home and texted me he didn’t have the part and maybe a buddy of his might and he would let me know. After that I never heard from him again I’ve sent texts just to see if there was an update and he just ignores them. I had another tv that broke and I have filled out the form on his website and he still has ignored those requests too not sure if I did anything to this guy for him to discontinue service but it’s a little unprofessional. Save your money go elsewhere.
