A delicious and vibrant watering hole for local belmontian breakfast.
As i walked through the ghost town that is now Belmont Center, I found the only place still open for breakfast. Bellmont Caffe is a small take-out spot with a big patio and some small tables for dining in. Inside is loud, the owners know everyone, and the food comes pretty quickly. I wish the tables weren't so on top of eachother, and I think they would benefit from having a food runner or additional counter person. When there is only one person at the front, and they sit down at the table of a regular, it makes you wonder of you are getting your food as soon as it is freshly prepared.
On that prior note, the food. I ordered a coffee with cream and sugar, with a ham, cheese egg, and mustard crepe. Both were amazing. The crepe was light, and delicate with a very even distribution of fillings. The coffee was very good too. I will note that they toppes the coffee with milk foam which im not mad at, but in a world of people getting in fist fights over how many pumps of vanilla there are it technically wasn't what I ordered.
Overall I will be back again. I would like to see what this place is like on a weekday and not on a Sunday. Im just glad to see that one of the few survivng business in Belmont Center deserves...
Read moreFirst time trying. Absolute horrible service. Three people behind the counter. Patrons who obviously frequent the establishment kept walking up to the counter ordering food. The woman at the register kept taking orders as myself & my friend were waiting for an outside table? as if ghosts..nobody Could you see us standing there!? nobody offered assistance? zero hosting. Finally, we spoke up asking for help? How should we be seated outside? The women answered, " Just order here." Umm, ok. then what? you'll bring us our food to the patio? "Yeah, yeah, I will. " we ordered a panini sandwich & avocado toast and two cold brew coffees. Sat ourselves at a dirty patio table...and waited...and waited. There were two other customers seated with food.. Finally, I went inside to inquire at least about our cold brews? The woman behind the counter said she forgot?! ..then asked, "If I had paid for the cold brew?" Yes! producing my receipt. She made the cold brew and sent me packing back to the patio. We waited another 20 minutes..to finally be delivered a cold panini sandwich and the most flavorless avocado toast I've ever had. Never again. Totally disappointed and quite frankly offended by the dismissive host? waitress? cashier?
Strange experience overall.
Dunkin beats this...
Read moreOn a rainy Sunday I decided to go out and support a local cafe and work as I own my own small business and like to support other small businesses. The crepe was good, the experience was not. After hearing the owner belittle one of his workers I was slightly troubled but then I was asked to leave because I’d been sitting at the table for more than an hour. The owner came to my table and said “Hey I’m going to need this table, it’s a one hour limit and I’ve got to make money”. During our visit another couple came in and left because the prices weren’t on the menu. The “Free WiFi” that is advertised on the door is apparently not free/available on the weekends. I know running a business means making money but this owner clearly puts making money above experience and his customers (based on our experience and observations). Won’t be returning to support this business and will tell anyone to...
