The Laureate — Attraction in Berkeley

I just renewed my lease with the leasing manager. She was great. She responded very fast and promptly. Hire more people like her! The area is fantastic. I am very fortunate to have clean and quiet roommates. The staff here is extremely helpful and understanding. They are always prepared to answer any questions that I may have. The maintenance team always gets the job done quickly and efficiently as well. It is also convenient to live this close to campus, making it very easy to get to classes in a timely manner. From the moment I walked in I knew it was a home. I’ve been here since September and I’ve been enjoying my stay. I get to work out daily after I canceled my gym membership since I already have a gym here. I use the pods so I get to do my stuff with ease. Everything makes me happy living here. I think I have horror stories from The Laureate. First, Wendy the property manager who “is supposed to be onsite 9-5 Monday through Friday” is never there so any problem you have, haha it will never get fixed. Weird random people do half-complete maintenance requests, the building is in disarray and disgusting, not to mention if you get a random roommate, you can be living with an assaulter or someone who is way older than you. When you move in, be prepared to get a unit that is never cleaned and has nose droppings on walls, along with bodily fluids on mattresses! Also, the mold problem is insane because I got so sick from the mold in the vents. Overall, do yourself a favor and lease elsewhere. We saw the amazing reviews for The Laureate, and even though it looked like a student building (and we're not students), we decided to check it out. While it turned out to be exclusively for students, but Sabrina, the property manager, was exceptionally helpful. She took her time to orient us in our apartment search and even offered to connect us with her resources. I wish we could live in this building!
