Alum Creek Lake — Attraction in Berlin Township

Fishing is hit or miss, more so than other places near it. The beach/shower facilities are ok. The water is usually murky regardless of when you go. Camping can be good. Prices are comparable to other places. Activities at the lake/campgrounds seem to be quite limited. The activities that I do know of are some bass tournaments, there are miles of trails for mountain bikers. I always see joggers, like marathons or something. My kiddo and I spend some summer days digging in the sand, splashing, floating, and playing on the playgrounds. There are multiple playgrounds, sandy beaches, boat launches, roped off swimming areas, picnic/grilling areas, and restrooms. Sometimes there are food trucks. The drive thru lights are very nice however they should request that drivers turn their headlights off while going thru. Not very enjoyable when there are cars coming toward you with their lights in your face. There is a sign reminding you to turn your lights on before you leave but I didn’t see a sign requesting them to be turned off. Maybe I missed...
