Description
Southwest Reef Light is a historic lighthouse built in 1856 at the end of Southwest Reef in Atchafalaya Bay, Louisiana to replace lightships which had been stationed there for ten years. It served to guide vessels around the reef and into the main channel of the Atchafalaya River.

This place is sooo 🆒! They have a plaque with the history abt the lighthouse. There's swings n benches, lovely artwork. GREAT view of the Atchafalaya River! There's a food court near by as well with really good stuff too. If you are a local or just passing thru this is a MUST...
