🚫♿️ I say not accessible bc of the fine crushed gravel, the rain off ruts throughout the trail that even people with 2 legs should be aware of while running or walking. I even met a gentleman fishing using a wheelchair on this day and he said his friend helped him down to the lake, but he had never been to the other side. Without help from someone else, you cannot get around the trail. I don't understand why there has been no move to pave it so it is accessible to everyone. The rest of this park is really nice. The buildings, the ♿️ accessible restrooms, there is a ramp to get to them, as well as stairs, but no handrails. The playgrounds seems very nice and has covered areas for parents to watch their kids play. Plenty of parking in lots of areas. We found 1 handicap spot and parked there to begin. There is a lake, a pier in desperate need of repair. There was a hole at the end where the wood rotted. There is a bridge when you make it around the lake but a pretty steep hill to get back to flat land. There is no shade until you make it halfway around. There you'll find a bench in the trees. You can continue on to go all the way around the lake. There is plenty of tennis courts available and a little stretch, workout station directly behind the courts. There were covered pavilions with lots of picnic tables. There was an Eagle project that no longer exists. Apparently, the tree was cut down that consisted of the hammock garden. The Rotary Club built a butterfly garden, but there were very few flowers except for Lantana and but the garden needs attention desperately. Overall, lovely park with the ability to be even better. First some trees need to be planted for these hot summers. Pave it for accessibility to everyone and so none of your runners break a leg in the massive ruts along the trail. Lighting would be a nice touch for those who like to walk at dusk. There is a tunnel under the road rhat went towards Spain Park parking lot or athletic complex. We found a bridge with lots of stairs leading upwards and believe it went to the high school. So, we took photos and moved on. There is a concessions stand that must only be open for events, but this is where you'll find the restrooms. 3 stars is bc it is accessible in some places, but not others who are independent but dependent on wheelchairs, canes, or prosthetics. I realize there could be more work being completed later and will revise my review when I visit again. Please consider paving it and adding lights, as well as some fast growing trees to provide more shade during these brutal Southern summers. Oh, I used the family restroom and this was the first time I had seen a motorized changing area. Brilliant idea. The Veteran's area is quite nice. Plaques telling who...

This park is pretty spot on in my kids' opinions. It has a rubberized base underneath, so there's no wood chips or sand to throw at each other and the equipment was in good shape! There was this tube thing that my three year old climbed down into but he couldn't figure out how to climb out. After his sister rescued him, he just avoided it. My kids' favorite thing to play on was the faux climbing rock. Our playgrounds back home don't often have those, so that was a treat. The bathrooms were open, though not very well kept. Water fountains were not available. Definitely bring your own water bottle.

My only reccomendation for parents that might make your visit a little more pleasant: pants for your kids. The equipment isn't covered by a canopy or anything so the summer sun makes the dark slides really stinking hot on little thighs scooting down them. Other than that minor issue,...

This park is mainly to pay tribute to veterans and their families. Different from the general open space, the focus of landscape construction here is to reflect people's memory and respect for veterans and become a far-reaching area in the local area. The terrain in the park is gentle and extends to a deeper canyon. As a formal place for citizens to gather, the park also has a more intimate and cherished area. There are also copper pavilions in the park, bronze walls with Emerson's two verses engraved on it. The park will also be a center for interactive activities such as the Veterans Day and other venues for the public to relax. Around the memorial area is a memorial wall with a national flag. The choice of building materials and vegetation in the park highlights the...

We were very impressed with the accessibility, the location, the playgrounds, & the general care given to this park. It was an excellent spot for a gender reveal! The only down fall was the hind coming through the pavilion like a tunnel but that’s no fault of the park. The experience was still fantastic & I recommend this location for all your party needs. We used the Modern Pavilion because it was close to the park & had easy access to the restrooms. Jackie was excellent and very accommodating, we truly appreciated all of her help!

Great walking or running location with expanded trail on west side of the park into the woods. Pier overlooking the pond with plenty of wildlife. May and June feature ducklings/goslings. Plenty of overflow parking in schools surrounding the park. Also features a play area for children, beach volleyball pit, pavilion, book exchange box, butterfly garden and (tied) hammock hanging area.
