Lake Sabrina — Attraction in Bishop

Lake Sabrina is a lake created by damming the middle fork of Bishop Creek.2] It is located south-west of Bishop, California on California State Route 168, in the Inyo National Forest.[3] It has a cafe as well as a dock. The dam was built in 1907-8 to supply a constant flow of water to the hydraulic power plants.[4] The lake is part of the Bishop Creek system.Local residents pronounce the lake "Sah-bry-nuh;"[5] however, the lake was originally named after Mrs. Sabrina (pronounced: suh-BREE-nuh) Hobbs, wife of C.M. Hobbs first General Manager of California Nevada Power Company which built the dam. The reason for the lake's name pronunciation changing over the years is unclear.[4]

Awesome 👊🏽 😁 👍🏽🇺🇸. You will have to get here early to get a post. The Lake Sabrina campground in the Inyo Forest gets reserved in person quickly. There are 20 spots, and four could support a travel trailer and a half ton or suburban. This campground is dry, with no connections. There is an outhouse for the restrooms, and there is a fire ring for wood burning 🔥 fires. The ring has a BBQ attachment. There is a picnic table in each spot. Half of the spots are along a stream. This campground is one mile from the actual Lake Sabrina Parking / Dam.

The weather was awesome, the fishing was awesome. You can rent three types of boats, kayaks or paddle boards.

Oct 17, 2023 🍂My wife and I are driving a 600-mile round trip a day to see the beautiful yellow leaves. 🍁🚘 🥪🍞 The trail and Lake Sabrina are steep and far away, making it 🛶 dangerous to approach. So, if you take a boat, you can see autumn leaves and a small waterfall across the lake that you cannot reach on foot. 🥾 📸 upgrade ➡️ 💥8/07/2023, 🏞 It was nice because there was a lot of water in the lake. 🌊The waterfall is flowing powerfully.
