Highway 395 Notes|California’s Autumn is Just Perfect 🍁

Just spent two days and one night on a road trip from LA along Highway 395. Followed the California Fall Color Map, and it was pretty accurate! ✨ Here’s a quick recap of our route and impressions—hope it helps if you're planning a trip too! 1️⃣ Bishop Had lunch in town, then drove up to North Lake. The mountain road is a bit rough in some sections, so drive carefully! 🚗💨 The fall colors at North Lake were absolutely stunning—vibrant gold everywhere, and you don’t even need to hike far to see them. Super easy and rewarding! 🟡🌲 2️⃣ Lake Sabrina The lake itself is gorgeous—bright, shining blue 💙—but if you're going purely for fall foliage, it’s nice but not mind-blowing. 3️⃣ McGee Pass Trail This was my favorite part! 🥾 The scenery is so layered and peaceful. Walking alongside a little stream with the sound of flowing water was so calming. The shade from the trees made the hike cool and comfortable. 🍂💧 In a nutshell: North Lake for the colors, Sabrina for the lake, McGee for the soul. 🚗🍁 If you have time, I highly recommend a two-day, one-night loop for a fuller experience! Have you driven the 395 during fall? Which spot is your favorite?
