I went on a field trip with my son’s school and the staff at the museum were rude! The tour guide was yelling because we had a large school group to follow as there were other schools near us so we could keep up the entire staff at my child school began yelling group A and B with the tour guide. A older lady near the gift shop comes from behind the desk and shushes me. When all the staff were yelling for the kids to keep up with their group.
Then we separated and each chaperone had four students that they explored the museum with them. As we entered the gift shop and I bought all my son’s classmates a gift. A staff member (guy) said are you lost ? I said no why did you ask that? He said because you’re not with your group. I said we all (5 different groups) are exploring alone as well as the other two classes that came with our school. He said are you sure. I said why are you concerned because do I look like a kid or something? He said no well I know you’re the adult that’s why I’m talking to you. The kids in my group all said he’s rude Ms. Williams and we walked away. I informed the staff at our school and the principal and we are never going back to Cranbrook ever. I was the only Black person with my group and the treatment from the staff was extremely disrespectful. I alerted a staff person at the Museum but I believe the problem isn’t just with one or two staff. They need a training on how to deal with people of other cultures and how to handle...

I was scared to even purchase a ticket for the science museum hope it's not to disappoint not sure if I'll give it a try maybe I'll stick with the DIA. And the...
Read moreThis art museum was a slight disappointment my boyfriend and I had went and out of the whole building we were only allowed to look in the basement section which were art projects that were made recently and should not be considered art by any means. It may have been an experience I would have liked if we could have seen the actual art in the rest of the museum. Also the lady that greeted us did not seem pleased at all and talked to us as if we were below her especially when my boyfriend was trying to be polite and make sure the door did not slam on our way in. The only thing that made the experience well was my boyfriend and I making fun of the "art" in the basement which was the only place...
