I took my wedding photos here. When I arrived on the party bus to my wedding photography session, as soon as I got off a lady had approached my photographers/videographers and my husband and I. She had rudely told us, we needed to leave because they had a private event today. I told her I paid for a photography session at that day and time. She said I shouldn’t have even been able to book that day since they had an event. I told her I booked it online and paid for it. I told her how much I paid and she immediately and rudely told me that is not how much I paid, because she would know she books all the events. I told her that is how much I paid and what is costs. She told me if we didn’t leave and show her proof that I had booked the session, she would call security and kick us out. I told her I needed a minute to find the email confirmation. I believed the whole purpose for booking and PAYING for the session was to avoid this whole situation. Obviously they are VERY unorganized and rude. I would not recommend booking here for any photography session. I had found my email and show the lady who had initially approached us. She then made a remark how our photography session didn’t start for another 15 minutes and NEVER apologized for the way she acted to us even after she realized that SHE has messed up. We ended up walking away to take our wedding pictures. By the way, there was many different people walking there dogs and strolling in the park and taking pictures while we were there! This is absolutely unacceptable for the amount I paid and for someone to treat someone like this, especially on their wedding day!! Spend your money someone where else, not worth dealing with their unorganized and rude staff.
I did try to call to get in touch with someone about this situation. I left a voicemail and I haven’t heard...
Read moreCranbrook Gardens is truly a hidden gem! The grounds are absolutely stunning and so well taken care of. Every corner has something unique to admire whether it’s the colorful flowers in the Sunken Garden, the peaceful Japanese Garden with its bridge and water features, or the sculptures and fountains tucked along the pathways. The gardens are spacious, giving you plenty of room to walk, relax, and enjoy nature without feeling rushed.
What I really loved is how calm and serene the atmosphere is. You can hear birds, spot butterflies, and even see turtles by the ponds it feels like stepping into a completely different world away from the city. The history of the place adds an extra charm, especially with the Cranbrook House nearby, which is so elegant and ties the whole setting together.
It’s perfect for photography, family outings, or just a quiet walk by yourself. The best part it’s free for self-guided visits, which makes it even more special. Some areas do have uneven paths, so comfortable shoes are a must, but overall it’s an unforgettable experience. I’ll definitely be coming back in different seasons to see how it changes...
Read moreThis place is amazing. I've driven by here many times and never stopped. I wish I had. It's beautiful and free for most of 2019. My nephew and his classmates decided to visit for prom. Most of the staff were very nice and understanding as we were in the parking lot when they were leaving to go home. One staff member callled security who came and told us we had to leave and that it was private property. When asked if that was true for Alumni she said since it couldn't be verified we were welcome to stay. Shame on the employee who called security and the guard who was foolish enough to follow up and not know about the sponsorship for free admission. Let me also say that these young people called ahead of time to confirm this.
Employees and security should be aware of what's on the website and available to the public.took prom photos but our party was the largest. There was no fighting, loud music or any disruptive behaviors but our group was the only multi ethnic group and every young person had proud parents their to take their pictures plus one had an aunt and two siblings....
