Capital Springs State Recreation Area — Attraction in Blooming Grove

I'm not sure this should really qualify as a State Park. A natural area, sure, but nothing about this place says State Park (other than the sign, lol). The County Park down the road is the real draw in this area. This place lacks a lot of amenities, and is pretty small. Other than a place to put your boat in, and a bathroom, this is just not State Park material.

That said, the path is wide, it's peaceful, and we had an enjoyable hike here. Several species of fungi and flowers, lots of birds, a nicely canopied trail through the woods with a few views of the lake.

I wouldn't go out of my way to visit, but if you're local, it's a nice path. Be sure to check out the county park just up the road if you stop here!
