The park ranger was extremely rude, and despite the website claiming that we could simply request an extra tent, we got here and then discovered that they are unwilling to make accommodations in order to promote a better and happier environment. We don't necessarily have an issue with just that. It was more so because we had it up for a full day almost 2, and then they commented on it. Although the first day we had 3 tents, not the 2 that we did have. Now we have me my friend, her sister, brother, and me all in a tent. Keep in mind we are all between the ages of 15 and 20. While the other tent has 2 adults and a newborn baby. This ranger also couldn't take responsibility for what he was saying, and kept blaming other rangers. Which felt extremely unprofessional and unfortunately I could never recommend this campground to anyone ever. Now onto the campground itself, we are right next to a highway, we have roughly 10 buffet between us and a very busy highway, along with an extreme amount of airplanes right overhead at every moment in time. The facilities are okay, but not great. However my other big concern is the startling amount of people they kick out every night. They kicked someone out because their dog was slightly loud, however no one really cared too much as it was very tollerable. They kicked out 2 people on our first night, and our second night its only 9:30 and he's...

Public boat launch, a tower over 30 ft high to observe nature & all it's endless fascinating transitions spring through summer, fall & winter. Also included in the park are Indian mounds & archaeological dig sites of various periods of prehistoric settlements. Lots of picnic areas, & open air covered pavilions are available for public or private gatherings, but should be reserved ahead of time. Finally, oodles of hiking & nature observation trails winding through ample size prairie restorations, provide gorgeous vistas of bur oak savanna & prairie openings. The wildflower display is both varied & robust, offering living jewels of native floras & faunas year round. Camera hounds & leisure walkers alike will appreciate the bright, lively colors of warm season species, & in winter the snow clad landscape invites closer inspection to fully realize all the hidden delights. These include icy frost gnome tracings on the lakes & snow cover, animal tracking, gently arching grass tufts sighing in the breeze over winter wonderland light burst effects on sunny days. One of the best experiences for nature deficit disordered little ones after a long snowstorm, cleanup & recurrent bouts of cabin fever. Making spirits bright, that's what William G. Lunney Lake Farms Park...

William G. Lunney Lake Farm County Park is a part of the scenic Capital Springs Recreation Area. Enjoy over 300 acres of native beautiful prairie flowers, marshes full of migratory bird life, oak savannahs, and Lake Waubesa. Park is named in honor of William Lunney, longtime environmental advocate in Dane County. Park and recreation area features the Lussier Family Heritage Center, campground, three reservable shelters, playgrounds, barrier-free boat launch, group camp, pond, observation tower, many hiking trails, cross-country ski and snowshoe trails. Two paved shared-use trails, the Capital City Bike Trail and Lower Yahara River Bridge Bike Trail, also go through the park. Handicapped accessible. Dogs require permits. Park is well-maintained and monitored (fees and permits apply). I think the recreation area has evolved beautifully over years. It’s very diverse. One of my favorite places in Madison to relax and...

I love this park! The paths through the forest next to the lake are beautiful.… And there’s a lot of miles to cover in a lot of combinations of paths to meet the needs of walkers and hikers of all capability. The terrain is flat, but the vegetation is quite lush in the forest areas. There is a large amount of paved path in the area and the park connects with the bridge that takes you around the end of the lake to the green lantern restaurant on the Monona side. The bridge walk is very lovely. Parking is very easy and there are group camping and picnicking spots that can be reserved ahead of time.

Great hiking/biking park. There are a variety of trails that explore the natural prairie landscape. The park has an observation tower that you can climb up. The park sits adjacent to a paved bike trail and Farm lake. The trails are wide, well marked, and mainly flat. There are several playgrounds, restrooms and plenty of parking. The park is pet friendly- my cat loves exploring the park.
