I cant say enough about the people at Blains Farm, & Fleet at the 2201 West Market Street location. I went into the tire department on 6-9-2024 needing a tire. They, nor any business in the immediate area had my size as I also had checked on my phone. I went back to my RV trying to think of what else I could do as I had 1200+ miles to go, and would be out of medicine within a few days. While in my RV thinking the Manager Dennis knocked on my door with possible solutions. I am sure the first gentleman Hank must have gone to tell him about my issue as Hank was the first, and only person I delt with at that time.
Well between Dennis, Hank, and input from others I was on my way home, happy, and relieved. Unfortunately 28 miles later I had the same problem again. Uhggggg Now wishing I could be back in the parking lot of Blains letting them help me out was just not going to be. I know my tire issues were first caused by some detour routes I was on in the middle of nowhere. as my oldest tire was 3.5 years old. At that point if I could have turned the clock back I would have sat patiently, had them order all 6 tires+ a spare, and put them on, but that was a 3 day wait to get them in.
I was about 12 miles from Champaign IL and found tires at Tire Barn. I disconnected my towable, and drove to them, and bought 2. They said they couldnt take the 10 minutes to mount a tire onto my spare rim, so I sat again in my car, looking for a place, and Big 4 Tire told me to come in. As soon as I pulled in, they took 10 minutes, and had me out the door. I called ? from Family Mans Towing who came out and installed my tire and I made it back to Florida.
Congrats to all at Blains..... Thanks...
Read moreAlright, gearheads and yard warriors, listen up! Blain's Farm & Fleet is basically my personal hardware Disneyland. They've got every doodad you could ever imagine, from those teeny-tiny screws that make you question your eyesight to those fire-breathing generators that could probably power a small concert. Prices are decent, but the real gems are the employees. These folks aren't just walking around stocking shelves – they're like fix-it ninjas with a bottomless well of knowledge.
The other day, my lawnmower decided to take a permanent siesta, leaving me with a yard that looked like it belonged in a horror movie for overgrown weeds. Knowing Blain's is my happy place, I hightailed it over there faster than a squirrel with a peanut allergy. Within what felt like two shakes of a lamb's tail, I found this awesome dude named Bob (seriously, this guy could fix anything with a roll of duct tape and a prayer). He listened to my panicked rambling about carburetors and spark plugs (which are basically the same thing, right Bob?) and then, like a miracle worker, pointed me to the exact parts I needed. Bam! New spark plug, new air filter, and my mower's back to purring like a kitten on catnip.
Seriously can't recommend this place enough. It's your one-stop shop for anything that needs a good ol' fashioned DIY fix. Just a heads-up: wear comfy shoes because you'll be there for a while browsing all the cool gadgets and gizmos. This place is like a black hole for your wallet, but in the best...
Read morePros: The store is very small but is loaded with useful things.
Easy to find things and an interesting set up.
Very friendly atmosphere
Located near Walmart, stake and shake, movie theatre ,gas station and a few banks.
Outdoor employees do a fantastic job with up keep
Cons: -You won't get a job at farm and fleet Bloomington ,IL if you are a minority. They had one Hispanic and no black, indian or other.
I gave a cashier $5 .42 and she put in the register that it was $50 she did not know that she was $44.58 off...I tried to help her and she didn't want my help instead she grabbed another cashier from her register to help her. Total waste of time not to mention these cashiers were like 40years +
Also this store(inside) is not the cleanest but I guess that's to be expected considering there isn't much staff.
My advice: Please start hiring 20yr olds and minorities your store could use extra employees. Do not discriminate minorities know where they are unwanted and will not spend their money in your store! Not to mention you do not have the brightest employees so your clearly not hiring people due to...
