Woolery Mill — Attraction in Bloomington

I often walk my dog on the clear Creek Trail but for today, we decided on a new walk, just a new experience, so I followed the trail underneath the bridge crossing over to where the mill is located. On the opposite side of the field across from the mill, we followed a trail along the creek until it suddenly came back to what look like a homeless encampment or someone had pitched a tent and was obviously living there. I quickly turned around, and my dog and I ventured out across the field near the mill. A woman from inside the catering portion of the mill approached me and said I could not walk there with my dog because it was private property, so I left. The venue was nice for a wedding. However at the reception after the wedding, the staff poured pitchers of beer that was purchased by the bridal party out and refused to serve anyone due to one person being too intoxicated. They shut the bar down and had it taken down before the DJ made the last call announcement. I asked the staff if we purchased the beer why they were throwing it away without our consent and they proceeded to get very unprofessional and began screaming at me as I simply stated to stop serving the the one person who was extremely intoxicated and not to stop serving the rest of the wedding attendees (100-150 people). The finale dinner for a 90-person plant symposium I organized was held on May 18 (2022) at the Woolery Mill, catered by One World. The DINNER WAS AWESOME!!! The food, the setup, and Janas Westcott (the Woolery associate I worked with, and her teammates) were all fabulous! I am a 70-year-old hyper critical male and am not embarrassed to say that I was brought to tears several times by the beauty of the setting.
