My 8 year old son is somewhat afraid of heights, but we stopped here on our way back from Mystery Hill and he really wanted to try the Foothills course that's designed for younger kids. Unfortunately, they were closing so we went back a few days later. It was only $19, and we were told he would be called to be suited at 1:20. At 1:30, I asked if we had missed something because we hadn't been called and had been waiting almost 30 minutes by this point. The staff apologized and said they were running behind. My son was then called for suiting up and orientation and I watched him practice locking and unlocking the cables on the ground. I had a feeling that he didn't have it down very well, although he did it a couple times. He then was sent to the Foothills course. He made it over the first balancing thing to a platform and began having trouble locking and unlocking the cables to move to the next wire. He made it through one more obstacle to the next platform, but once he got there, he began crying as it can be frightening from 20 feet up when you're unsure of what to do. I called the guide who was standing near the entrance to the course and alerted her that he was crying. I was hoping she would go out to him and possibly talk him through it because I feel he may have gotten it with a bit of encouragement and support. Instead she called out and talked him back in from her location while he went it alone. He decided to quit once he made it back to solid ground. 30 minutes of waiting, about 15 minutes of suiting up and orientation, and only 10 minutes spent on the actual activity and now my son is reluctant to try other "possibly" scary activities. I feel this could have turned out differently and I would recommend that if it's your child's first time, that you accompany them on the course. I did not because my son enjoys indoor rock climbing, but the pull of the harness feels more secure at the rock climbing place. He complained to me afterward that he was afraid that one hook wouldn't be strong enough to hold him if he fell and he was afraid of falling from the platform while he was struggling to move the hooks from cable...
Read moreOur group had two disabled members with difficultly balancing and walking,(my mom and I have peripheral neuropathy, CMT, and wear AFOs) I called ahead to ask questions about the accessibility of the tour and Tucker answered the phone right away and took the time to talk me through the entire Zip-line tour so we could determine if it was something we were able to do, he also assured us that they would provide us with extra assistance it needed. When we arrived there we were greeted by a nice young lady who privately took our weight on a scale that didn’t display the number to the room, then she pointed out the direction of the very clean bathrooms and where we were to go. Our tour guide happened to be Tucker and Daniel both of who were kind and enthusiastic during the duration of the the tour. They politely asked what we were able to do, and let us know that if we needed any assistance we could ask. The actual tour was built in a way that was very disability friendly, minimal walking, minimal balancing, the only hard parts were standing on the block while we were getting strapped in and taken off and walking up the landing ramp (which we got the hang of by the end of the tour) but Daniel or Tucker were always there to offer a hand, help us up on to the landing ramp or steady us. There was also a mom and child on my tour and the tour guides were very kid friendly as well. By the end of the tour my mom and I were very confident on the zip-line and the landings and we both even ended up doing the simulated free fall ( Tucker explained an alternative way to land if we felt we wouldn’t be able to balance when we slowed to our landing and Daniel was there to steady me when I landed). Over all it was an enjoyable, accommodating, and accessible experience that the whole family enjoyed. We will definitely be coming back, and I definitely recommend calling them up if you are looking for a disability friendly zip-lining experience, I called three other places in this area and I was turned away by all of them but High Gravity, was willing and able to...
Read moreMy group went last week and purchased the ultimate ticket (Zip, Climb, & swing) plus the photo pass option. There were 7 of us in total. We toughly enjoyed the zip line tour! Sophie, Sonni, and Hayden T. were our awesome guides. They were very kind, patient, and knowledgeable. The land that the tour goes through is very beautiful. Our guides always made sure we felt safe and were so patient with those of us who were nervous (especially during the last line and the simulated free-fall!). Most of the group had a very nice time during the climbing portion of the day. 2 of the 7 made it to the first obstacles and backed out but the employees who were helping hook everyone up were still supportive and didn't get upset or frustrated at having to undo them. The rest who climbed had a good time challenging themselves to go higher and do more. We liked how the course was set up in a manner where they could choose which ones they felt able to do without having to force them through sections they were not comfortable with. When lighting started to come close the guides on the course made sure to move everyone to the 1st and 3rd sections of the course. These levels had the fastest access off the attraction so that if the lighting got too close they could evacuate it quickly and safely. This is definitely something our group would do again. We were able to have a picnic lunch on premises and spent almost the whole day enjoying everything they had to offer. If your group is up for adventure this is the...
