JessaKae is one of the most magical dress boutiques. The decor is whimsical, the dresses feel like theyāre from another time, and the entire store gives off a dreamy, fairytale vibe. When I first walked in, I didnāt expect to feel transformed. But the moment I tried on a flowy purple dress with big sleeves, I couldnāt help but smile and even twirled. For a moment, I truly felt like a princess.
I took care to return each dress to the rack as I went, knowing how much work it can be to clean up after customers. Toward the end, realizing I was running short on time before closing, I tried to be quick and stopped returning the dresses. When the staff member on duty who offered no help and stood around the entire time realized this she seemed visibly annoyed, but started to return the dresses. I apologized for the dresses on the return rack and was met with a cold response. I told her how much I loved the dresses and felt like a princess (in order to end the awkward silence.) But was met with no response.
A short while after she told me, that the store was closing soon and abruptly reminded me multiple times with attitude. I was trying to make a $300 decision in just minutes, which felt rushed and pressured. She clearly cared more about getting out of there right on time rather than making a large sale and maybe being a couple minutes after. (I have personally seen pet food stores have more gracious costomer service than what I received). I decided to walk away, even though I loved the dresses, because of the energy and service. When she asked why I wasnāt purchasing anything I told her āI felt rushedā her response was āmakes senseā
I returned a week later, hoping for a better experience. Unfortunately, the same staff member was working again. The zippers on the dresses were nearly impossible to manage alone or even with the help from my mom, and the staff admitted there was a specific ātechniqueā involving someone elseās help. This felt unrealistic, especially for customers who are flexible enough to zip their own dresses but arenāt married and live alone, I personally expect a working zipper for this price point.
When I asked to buy the dress, I was told the display versions aren't sold, The dress brought out was extremely wrinkled and looked like it had been wadded up and shoved in a corner. I politely asked if there was a less wrinkled version, and was told no, but that I could ājust go buy a $20-$40 steamer from Amazon.ā If Iām spending $300 on a dress, I expect it to be presented with care, not in need of extra effort and cost before I can wear it. Iām glad I tried on the dress before taking it home because it was sewed wrong. The neck line had a blemish that made it bulge and not lay nicely. I pointed it out & asked for one that was not flawed. She brought out another that was more blemished. I asked if I could just have the store display that was without wrinkle or flaw which she finally agreed to.
I asked about a 20% discount Iād seen online. The staff said I could use it if I left a Google review. I agreed, but when she rang me up, she forgot to apply the discount. When I pointed it out, she said she forgot but there was nothing she could do, unless I bought it again again & returned it fore store credit only. At that point, I was tired and frustrated and just wanted to leave.
Right before leaving I used the restroom only to find a bathroom with 4 empty toilet paper rolls and no paper towels, this added to the feeling that the service was lazy and uncaring and that customers werenāt a priority. After investing time, money, and emotion into this purchase, I walked out feeling dismissed and undervaluedānot like a princess, but like an inconvenience.
I shared my experience with a friend who had once been a brand ambassador, She agreed that the brand now is overpriced and has a mean girl vibe.
If JessaKae wants to maintain the magic their brand is known for, I hope they take a serious look at their customer service. For a boutique that charges premium prices, the service should match the beauty of...

I first saw the ads on Instagram for this Margy Dress I ordered it on the spot for me and my baby Then I was like oops! That was impulsive! š So I checked the Facebook page, and all I saw was really bad reviews. Hrm. I contacted them right away asking for not to process the order since the dresses werenāt shipped yet! And they did. (Mommy and me Margy)
I even posted it on twitter with snapshots of the reviews and asked my 23K followers if they think Itād be a stupid idea to purchase? All said YES donāt purchase. One of them suggested I look into Needle and Thread. I did, and I saw that some of their similar dresses are also %100 polyester.
I talked to my husband, he said email the brand, ask them for an exception of refund (since JessaKae doesnāt do refunds) explaining to them how Facebook reviews made you cancel the first one. And that $410 for the dresses is too much money to not get refunded if I didnāt like the dresses!
I did. They kindly refused.
I purchased anyway! Because the dress on the website looked gorgeous!!! I fell in love I swear.
So hereās my honest opinion, size is truly fit. Looks okay, doesnāt look cheap but doesnāt look like $410 dresses either. Itās not executed well on the breast area, even the kids dress.
I got compliments throughout the night at my Cousinās wedding, Because people are not wearing it, I am! So they donāt know how NOT breathable it is. %100 polyester is NOT fun š wasnāt fun for my baby either. I donāt think Iāll wear it again! Sheās almost 2. Overall, itās an okay dress. I donāt regret buying it, but I donāt think Iāll recommend it anytime soon. Not until they change their return/ refund policy.
One more thing, I left a review on their website since August 19 when I first received it talking about the quality and how I donāt recommend it, but they never...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is the very first bad review Iāve ever written in my life⦠but, itās important to warn others.
Imagine having such a poor return policy that your customers have a Facebook support group for people reselling dresses?
Iāve always believed in voting with my dollars and supporting businesses that operate with integrity.
Original 4-star review: Exquisite experience!! Staff is delightful! You will be delighted you cameābeautiful dresses & experience!
Update: Since that time, weāve tried to purchase more dressesābut unfortunately, the return policy has become a nightmare. We typically drove six hours while we were in the area just to support this store.
We added $80 to a $140 store credit to buy a new dress for my daughter. It turned out to be the wrong one, and despite everything, theyāre keeping the full amount. No refundānot even a partial one. The only option we were given was yet another exchange.
Thatās their current return policy, and it feels predatory.
To be clear, I still appreciate the staff. Theyāve always been kind and helpful in person. But because of the storeās rigid return practices, I can no longer shop here, and I canāt recommend JessaKae to others. Buyer beware.
The store explained that some customers have returned worn dresses dishonestly, so now everyone is treated with the same level of suspicion. Sadly, that means honest customers are the ones who end up paying the price.
Excellent customer service is a top priority for meāand in this case, Iāve been left disappointed and out a significant amount of money. Iām getting rid of the dress I just bought, and Iām letting go of every JessaKae dress I own. Itās just not worth the stress anymore.
This store has so much potential. I hope they take this kind of feedback to heartāloyal customers...
