We are AMC Stubs "A" List members and we see 2-3 movies per week. Great Deal!
The staff is friendly and they even recognize us now as we go through due to our "frequent flyer, movie-goer" pattern.
The phone app has one very big annoyance, though. In addition to showing the virtual ticket on your phone, you have to show your picture ID. USUALLY, that would be no big deal, but since we usually have our hands full with refreshments, it is a real pain in the butt to have to sit everything down on the floor & hold up the line since we have just been talking to the attendents about the movie we saw yesterday when they were there.
Solution, FIX the AMC PHONE APP to include a scanned picture to accomplish the task in one step or quit making those poor kids ask us for ID when they KNOW who we are!!!!
Making it inconvenient for patrons who typically make a dinner out of the hot dogs, popcorn and nachos, to the tune of about $15 per visit, 3 times per week, & up to 50 times per year, it would monetarilg benefit the theater if we continued purchasing our "dinner" at the theater rather than going to McD's or Taco Cabana before the movie and walking in hands free. It's a small thing, nut it puts an additional $2000+/year in AMC's register.
In this case, a picture on the app would be worth two thousand dollars per year. I know we aren't the only patrons annoyed as we talk to our friends on the program as well.
If AMC is worried that someone will abuse the privileges, make a limiter that only allows one movie check-in per hour, per theater. Stop gap measures are NOT that hard to code...

We were SO excited when Starplex ORIGIONALLY came to town. We finally had a place for the kids to go without making the 20-30in drive to San Antonio. The theater was always clean and unlike most theaters they offered VERY reasonable ticket prices and concessions. Staff was always friendly and accommodating... always appearing to take pride in keeping the place tidy by sweeping up that last fallen kernel of popcorn. Starplex rewards were an added bonus to our almost weekly attendance.
Fast forward to Jan 2016. I receive a welcoming e-mail announcing the AMC buyout with an attached FREE ticket. Great... lets go! Unfortunately upon arrival I soon realize this is not he same Starplex I had grown to love. Everything was in chaos. Kiosks not working, Listing screens not functional, food not ready in concessions, and overall the place was just a mess. Where did the friendly employees go? Why was there popcorn and trash scattered EVERYWHERE. Piles of boxes of cleaning supplies and old bathroom fixtures piled up along the walls... Even the previews were poorly sequenced with large time gaps. The place was just "sloppy".
I hoping that AMC can get their act together... and soon. Boerne needs this place. Bring back the old Starplex staff and take pride in this theater. We'll pay your higher prices, but deserve the Starplex experience we have grown...
Read moreMy fiancé and I come here often. It’s a very small, very quiet theater, which is what keeps us coming back. When we come here, we know that it is likely we will be the only ones in the theater watching our film, which makes for a relaxing movie experience, and also makes us feel safer than at other crowded theaters. Now, there are some major downfalls when it comes to this quaint place, and it mostly has to do with customer service and concession prices. When I say that concessions are expensive.. I’m NOT kidding. These are the absolute most ridiculous prices I’ve ever heard of, anywhere. I cannot believe that they charge so much for food in such a tiny and underwhelming environment. This factor alone keeps us from coming here as much as we would like. Sure, movie tickets are cheap, but $50-$60 for just a few snacks just isn’t worth the trip sometimes. Also, I take my niece sometimes, but one time she got sick and spit up a little bit in the theater. I immediately got up and told customer service about the mess, only to be met with rolling eyes and one employee even suggested I go home. Theaters are also rarely ever cleaned properly. Overall, I’d say this definitely isn’t the place to go if you want to make anyone feel special. Plan a special evening elsewhere. But if you just have nothing better to do and want to get out of the house, then I’d...
