the parks are nice, but they are increasingly becoming more like a zoo. if i wanted a manicured “wild space” i would go to central park in new york. the miserable administration verges on facist, they answer to no one, they do not listen to or respect the community, they are oppressive to kids needs and seem to care more about zoo-ifying old ranch land by “restoring it” than opening it up for kids to play in the creeks. it is a bit like they sallowed a muir philosophy book. i like having open space, but i absolutely despise how it is run, and how little the people who run it seem to think about the community they are impacting compared to their ideology. it is ugly, and i generally regret voting to support them and won’t in the future. i wish there was a way for them to have to answer to the...
Read moreI saw a heifer give birth today and then it started snowing an awful amount 4 hours later. The calf is only a few hours old and it's snowing!! I can't get a hold of ANYONE, park rangers won't even help me out after I called dispatch. Do you think a newborn calf, that is usually born in Spring, can survive a night of freezing temperatures?!!
