This is a lightly used, neighborhood gem, perfect for an uncomplicated and easy stretch of the legs. If you do a loop around the lake, there is some gravel and some paved pathway. It's very pretty with nice reflections of hills and sky and it is blessedly undeveloped so far. (A couple of years ago, eager beavers at City Hall threatened to add a bunch of fancy, schmancy facilities to the area but a grassroots neighborhood revolt has forestalled that effort so far. Fingers crossed; you know they'll be back.) Depending on season, various waterfowl and other wildlife can often be seen. On leash dogs are welcome. Just mind the few runners and bikes...

I must admit I was rather disappointed on this exploration. I wanted something different. I've heard people talk about Wonderland Lake with fondness in the past, so when I was checking out all the parks I've never been to here in Boulder, this one jumped out at me. When I initially read it, I thought, "oh yeah, a nice park on the shore of a lake would do me rather nicely. When I got there however, I found it was not much more than a paved walking path around the lake about 1/4 mile away from the shore at any given point. The only reason I'm even giving it 3 stars is because there is a small play area along y the path for the...

There is really nothing bad about this park, it has a nice open area next to the lake. The fence there has just been renovated by the Boulder Youth Corp. The playground area includes a swing set, a little sand box, a metal climbing gym sort of thing, and various other bits and bobs. It has a nice big open space that I have flown a kite in several times. It is a nice park that is rarely busy. The only reason I am giving it four stars is because there is nothing truly...

The Good: Quick escape in north Boulder with Flat Iron views. An easy tranquil walk around the lake, and for the more athletic, a nice hike in elevation up the front range. The Bad: Nothing really, it's a popular hike so be prepared to encounter many others on the trail. If you're hiking up the hills there is no shade so morning sun will make it a toasty hike. Overall: Very nice park will take my puppy there again.

Wonderland Lake Park is a hidden gem! The lake and surrounding views are absolutely beautiful, making it the perfect place to unwind. It’s calm and peaceful, ideal for a relaxing walk. The park offers both flat trails for easy hiking and more challenging uphill paths for those looking for a bit of adventure. Whether you’re out for some fresh air or a workout, this place has something for everyone.

We have lived nearby for the last 4 years but now live in the neighborhood. Each day we are learning more of what the area has to offer that we didn't know. Great trails, both sidewalk and dirt options! Lots of incline if you want to get some elevation, plus plenty of flat trails if you are out for a leisurely stroll! We enjoy walking around the lake just after the sun dips behind the mountains!
