I have been in a dark place the past few days full of hatred, anger , resentment and fear. Somehow after 4 years sobriety they creeped back into my life so much I needed to be alone , I had even missed work with thoughts of quitting. So I came to Winter garden to listen to music and read " The fellowship of the rings " for hope an courage. Sitting there enjoying my misery , an angel of Mercy came to me in form of a 2 or 3 year old little girl. I noticed her and the family approaching , I was sitting up a ramp on a bench , when this little blonde Angel walked right up to me like on purpose and softly said "hi" what was I supposed to do ..I said " hello " , " is that a picture " . She showed me a map of the park, when I reached out she withdrew slightly , but then the map feel a little she looked at me and just said " bracelet " ,"yes " I replied " I wear bracelets , would you like one " she nodded. I let her pick her own from some I carry , as she took it I heard the softest " thank you " . She placed it on the tips of her fingers , and with a snap she opened her hand and the beads sprang almost up to her elbow. I don't know the family or the name of the little girl , but thank you . Thank you for showing me that even the smallest person can change the course of life. Thank you for your timely light when I was at my darkest , my sweet...

The trails are clearly marked and usually in great shape, even after rain. It’s the kind of place you can go for a short reset or a long think, and it always delivers. I’ve spotted deer, owls, and more wildflowers than I can name over the years.
If you spend any time in BG and like being outside, this park is absolutely worth it. No frills, no noise—just solid trails and...

Be aware however that after heavy rains certain parts of the trails can get quite muddy or even flood as parts of the park are wetlands. The trails are well marked and follow loops, making it pretty easy to navigate even on your first visit. While not my thing, the trails and terrain are quite suitable for dog walking and...
