As a dog park connoisseur, this is without a doubt one of the nicest dog parks I have ever visited. It was huge, with well-defined walking trails and for the most part well cleaned up after (it's hit or miss with dog parks about how responsible the owners are). The parking lot was under construction, but there is PLENTY of street parking. The park itself is just gorgeous. I happened to be here during, in my opinion, peak weather conditions, so I can't attest to rainy or snowy conditions.
Lots of dog visitors, all friendly, I saw no dog fights. There is a dock jumping area into a nice pond. Walking the perimeter of the park takes maybe 10-15 minutes (depending on how fast you and your dog have to stroll). It's minimally hilly, which makes for ideal ball throwing landscape. Lots of different exits and entrances into the park.
Open 24 hours and no fee to enter.
The ONLY criticism is that there is no water pump or source for the dogs other than the pond with dock diving, however there is a sign posted that says they don't test the water and use it at your own risk, so there is great doubt...
Read moreThat is one happy dog! Features: doggy poop bags and trash cans foe puppy presents throughout (so you never have to hang on to a bag for long) a doggy diving dock (fenced and closed during winter for pet and owner safety), a fenced dog agility course, a smaller puppy play area, ponds (fenced so you get to enjoy the local wildlife), the side gate opens to the rest of the regional park, you can park at the road and enter through the north gate or at the parking lot in the south gate. It takes 20 minutes to walk around the entire thing and plenty of room for the doggos to play, or you can go through the middle trail for a 10 minute walk. Sitting at the gazebo or on the many benches is always an option. People are friendly but seem to be more so on a mission than ready to stand around or chat. So if chatting and walking long is your thing: Snowfill. If short walk and chatting: Lewis and Bark. If gazing at views and medium/short walk is your thing with plenty plenty of dogs to play with: Gallatin Valley Regional. All in all, an excellent dog park with plenty to explore, well set up and...
Read moreAbsolutely amazing! Very thought out! Was headed to South Dakota from Washington state and needed a place for my Willis to stretch his legs and run off some energy!
I can't say enough about this place! I'm definitely stopping again!!
There is a fenced off agility area, a fenced off area specifically for small dogs, a picnic area, a pond type are that includes a dock for the dogs to swim, and lots and lots of room for the dogs to run! Trails for walking too!
Whomever thought this out did a great job! Willis played for a few hours!! He slept so good after, giggles!
There are signs that let you know where you can and cannot walk the dogs, for instance by the skate park! There are many birds as well. I really just can't say enough. Definitely worth the stop if your traveling through or if your lucky enough to live in the area, I'd say it's a must visit with your four...
