Title: Enchanting Nature Escape at DuPont Forest with Spectacular Waterfalls and Covered Bridge

Review: DuPont Forest, located in the picturesque mountains of North Carolina, is a true nature lover's paradise that never fails to impress. During my recent visit, I had the privilege of exploring some of the most iconic attractions within the forest, including the breathtaking High Falls and Triple Falls, as well as the charming Covered Bridge.

High Falls is a majestic 150-foot waterfall that commands attention with its powerful cascading waters and the mesmerizing soundtrack of nature's symphony. Standing at the base of the falls, I felt a sense of awe and wonder at the sheer beauty and raw energy of this natural wonder. The lush greenery surrounding High Falls added to the enchanting atmosphere, transporting me to a serene oasis of tranquility.

Triple Falls, with its three-tiered cascade, was another highlight of my DuPont Forest adventure. Each tier of the waterfall offered a different perspective and unique vantage point, allowing me to appreciate the intricacies of nature's design. The sound of rushing water and the cool mist in the air created a sensory experience that was truly unforgettable.

As I strolled along the trails of DuPont Forest, I came across the charming Covered Bridge, a historic structure that added a touch of nostalgia to the landscape. The bridge served as a delightful backdrop for photos and provided a sense of connection to the past, reminding me of the rich history and heritage of the area.

Overall, my experience at DuPont Forest, with its amazing waterfalls, serene trails, and scenic beauty, left me in awe of the wonders of the natural world. Whether you're a seasoned hiker or a casual nature enthusiast, DuPont Forest offers a rejuvenating escape into the great outdoors that will leave you feeling inspired and refreshed. Don't miss the chance to explore this gem of North Carolina and immerse yourself in the magic of...

If you’re looking for an easy, beautiful, and refreshing nature escape, DuPont State Recreational Forest is such a gem! I recently visited and while not all the trails were open due to damage from a past hurricane, I still got to explore Triple Falls and High Falls — and wow, they were totally worth the visit!

Heads-up though: because of the recent hurricane, a good number of trails are still closed for safety and repair. So if you’re planning a trip soon, definitely check the trail status ahead of time so you’re not caught off guard. It’s a little disappointing not being able to see all the waterfalls, but I was still super happy to catch two of them — and honestly, they’re breathtaking.

This place is waterfall central! The forest is full of flowing beauty, and you can hear the rushing water before you even see it. When you do, it’s like stepping into a real-life nature movie.

One of my favorite things about this trail is how chill it is. It’s super family-friendly, pet-friendly, and really just friendly all around. I saw everything from dogs with their humans to families with toddlers and even people strolling through in church clothes — that’s how easy and accessible the trail is.

The forest is really well maintained, even with the storm damage, and it’s clear a lot of care goes into keeping it clean and safe. Just a quick reminder: if you're snacking while you hike (no judgment — I did too!), please take your trash with you and help protect the beauty of the area. Be aware of your surroundings and respect the ecosystem — nature needs our help to stay awesome.

Can’t wait to go back and hit the rest of the trails when...

This is such a great place, took 3 of my kids ages 8, 12 and 15. They loved the view. When pulling in off the main road the parking lot will be on your left. It is a one way circle. The area to the trail is not marked well. If you head straight back if your looking at the information sign and then turn left when you hit the dirt road/ large open trail. It’s down hill to the falls. Easy grade. It’s a little bit of a walk, if you go in the summer please bring water as it will be humid. When the trail came to a end you can go right to see the lower part of the falls or left to see the upper part. We stayed in the left and it was so worth it!! The falls are gorgeous and you can see the top of the lower falls from this point too. Please watch your kids and don’t let them wade in the water as it would be easy to slip and it could be too late to catch them. Unfortunately there were some people who were letting their kids swim despite signs that say not to. I suggest getting there early in the morning as when we were leaving around 10/1030 the parking lot was full. If you need restrooms: before you turn right out of the parking lot to head back on the main road you will want to turn left. Head down the road until you see a log cabin on the left and the restrooms are behind that. No one was there and it was such a pretty place. Oh! As always wear good shoes, don’t have a careless accident over wearing flip flops. I’m an avid hiker and every time I visit a place like this there is always some one hurt or about to get hurt because of not being prepared. Nearby there is a couple cute stores,...

DAY TRIP IDEAS FROM ASHEVILLE NC ☀️ Save for summer adventures 👙🍉🌻🕶️💦 1. Sylva NC - waterrock knob is a great spot for sunset and check out Cullowhee (high) Falls and Lake Glenville for swimming! 2. DuPont State Forest has a bunch of incredible waterfalls! Just make sure to pack out what you pack in as this area tends to get trashed easily. Always leave it better than you found it 🫶🏼 3. Brevard is such a fantastic place year round but especially in the summer 🙌🏼 sliding rock, looking glass falls, and numerous day use spots along Pisgah Highway have spots to take a dip 4. Erwin TN is often overlooked but it is so close to AVL! I love the Nolichucky River and you can pick up the AT from here for some incredible views 5. Green River Gamelands is less than an hour from Asheville and there are so many spots to cool off! Plus this is a great area if you love kayaking 🚣‍♀️ As always, please recreate responsibly. We want to keep these places beautiful for generations to come. If you see trash…. Pack it out even if you weren’t the one who littered 🚮 #blueridgemountains #ashevilletrails #avl #explorenc summer day trip ideas from Asheville Nc
