High Falls was such a great family hike! With a little bit of elevation, the pathway was still relatively easy. The falls were incredible, and there were so many great rock areas to sit close up. It is also super pup friendly. I would personally recommend taking the shelter route when you come to the crossroads, and from there seeing the falls at a slightly higher elevation for the first time vs the path to the falls directly. From the shelter area, you can walk down a stairway that has one step needing repair - so be careful. The "Covered Bridge" was also absolute blast to drop leaves over on one side, and see them float to the other as well.

I love a covered bridge, and this one is no exception! It sits right at the top of High Falls and is a great spot to enjoy a moment of respite during your hike. There aren't any benches (which would be the only thing I'd add), but it made for a dry, shady shelter for us to eat our lunch. Listening to the trickle of the water, and watching the tiny fish swim below made for a relaxing lunch break, and I highly recommend making the trek up here if you are able!

This place is so pretty!! The hiking trails are pretty mild overall but the views are incredible. It's a pretty short walk to the covered bridge but there are miles of trails beyond it. There are also a couple different waterfalls to see here so make sure you catch them all.

My husband and I got married on this bridge. I adore this place. Heartbroken about the devastation that occurred in WNC. I feel like I may never get to see this place again. Sending so much love to anyone and everyone who lost homes and or loved ones in this. Grateful everyday my family is ok aside from lost belongings...
