You need to coordinate with law enforcement and do a better job at running this traffic. Sadly I can't leave a review for the police department. Your race fans are not the only people that matter, us locals have lives. These officers need to shut down pedestrian crossings whenever the traffic gets too backed up. If we sat there and waited for all the pedestrians to keep coming across back and forth we would be there all day. I about didn't make it to a veterinarian appointment on time. On the way back I choose white top and the officer isn't up there directing traffic he is hiding under the canopy in the shade and no one knew who's turn it was. It was chaos. I finally get on white top and then I'm stopped by officers to let some pedestrians go but whenever the pedestrians have crossed they will not let us go and they stood there holding traffic back waiting for pedestrians to show up but we can go in between pedestrian groups. If the highway is clear and there is no pedestrians to cross they need to let traffic go and stop the pedestrians that may walk up while traffic is being cleared. If the pedestrians are not at the intersection ready to cross then you need to release traffic. Also after dealing with the long line of traffic we have pedestrians jaywalking all over the street and not at the crosswalks. How many years have you guys done this race? You guys have been around longer than I have and I'm 39 so you figure you guys would have this better by now. So please stop snubbing locals and make us an equal priority too because we have lives to carry on with. You should be able to stop pedestrian traffic at some points to allow us to get on with our lives. They can wait just like we have to. At the very moment when the roads are clear and there is no pedestrians Clcrossing RELEASE THE TRAFFIC. They shouldn't be standing in the roads waiting for more pedestrians to show up holding back traffic. If they aren't at the side of the road they are not ready to cross so let us go. If they stroll up in the meantime make them wait like we had to wait until traffic is...
Read moreMy friend and I went to the NASCAR race at Bristol and the track was nice and we were able to get a ride on the cart closer to our seat because we cannot walk far and we have trouble with steps. That was also nice. The thing is when we pulled in the main gate I was in a very small Class C older camper, my camper fits perfectly in a parking place and I have pictures to show it and it is only 19 ft long. Pick up trucks are nearly the length of my little camper. I was told that I could not Park in that area even though I had a handicap placard. So they told me to go down the street and park with all the other campers and the guy charged me $40 to park there. He said you see the other campers here and you see the pickup trucks with their tents set up behind them this is why they pay more because they set up tents well we weren't setting up a tent we were only wanting to park. I had $ 36 on me and the guy said he needed $40 so my friend used her card at the ATM at which time they charged her $4 just to get enough out to help for parking. I have been to several different NASCAR tracks as it is my bucket list and I am 70 years old and a female. I have never had to pay to park anywhere at any race and have always been allowed to park in the handicap space. I travel on a very limited budget, I buy my ticket ahead of time and when I drive my camper I sleep in that at a rest area and charge my gas on my credit card. It was very upsetting to come to what it's supposed to be such a highly recommended track, I mean it's Bristol! I don't know who to talk to about seeing if I can have my money returned for parking because it has really left a harsh spot in my mind for that track. I would be glad to talk to somebody about it or share my pictures if needed. Thank...
Read moreWe couldn't find affordable rooms 2 months before the race, so we rented a cabin on Roan Mountain about 30 minutes away from the track. That was a good decision to get away from the crowd. We parked across the interstate in section 6 last minute $25 fee online, make sure to buy your parking pass with your tickets. The night race started at 7pm and we arrived about 3pm tail gated for about 2 hours. We brought our canopy, grittle, and chairs. Then a short walk to the shuttle bus no fee and got dropped off at the track. We walked around the vendor area for about 30 minutes, then a hike to find our seats. We set in Jeff Gordan section row 26, I would recommend these seat because you could see everything and only about 4 rows from bathrooms and concessions. Row 26 chairs do have the back on them which you will be glad you have. They had the band 3 doors down on stage before the race which we didn't expect, so that was a great bonus. Diffently bring ear protection, no less then $100 cash, you can take a cooler with drinks and food inside to save money. Bring comfortable shoes there is lots of walking. We had a great time and will be going back. We still can't hear two days later. Lol. Get the dual head sets for the race cause you can't yell loud enough to the person sitting beside...
