I have to say, I’m extremely disappointed with this card shop. Recently, they decided to cancel the Union Area tournament without any warning. There was no communication about it whatsoever—no email, no update, nothing. We showed up expecting a tournament, only to find out it was the last one and they had quietly decided to cancel it. Not only did they not tell us beforehand, but no staff member came up to explain what was going on or why they suddenly stopped the events that had been happening regularly.
It’s clear that this place is more focused on making a profit than actually caring about the community or the player base. They’ve built a reputation on hosting tournaments, yet when it comes down to it, they don’t seem to value the people who support their business. There was zero effort to make things right or even acknowledge the people who were there expecting a good experience. They have no problem taking your money, but don’t count on them to show any respect or consideration once they’ve got it.
If you're looking for a store that actually cares about its customers and the community, this isn't it. They’re only in it for the bottom line, and that’s something I can’t support
Edit after reply, from the official Bandi TCG app we had 4 plus people from rankings every time so only 3 people showing up is a direct lie. There was no communication about shutting it down we had to figure it out after I went up and asked why it was taken off the schedule, his exact words was "it's not profitable" 3...
Read moreThanks for the response. However, I want to clarify a few things from our side because some of what you mentioned doesn't align with the facts.
First, regarding attendance: the official Bandai TCG+ app consistently shows 4–7 players in weekly Union Arena event rankings at your store. That’s public data, and we’re happy to share screenshots if needed. If that’s the attendance range, how can the game be described as "barely averaging 3" or having "many weeks when no one showed up"? The numbers just don’t add up.
Second, we weren’t given any direct communication about the game being cut until I personally asked about it, after noticing it was removed from the schedule. The response I got at the store was: "It’s not profitable," and something to the effect of, "It’s not Pokémon money so we don’t want to keep running it." That felt pretty dismissive, especially since some of us have been showing up consistently to support the game.
Lastly, your message mentions that attempts were made to move the event or work with the community. But from what we saw, no poll or open discussion ever happened with the current union area team
We get that you have to make business decisions. But please don’t frame this as purely a lack of player interest when the data and community feedback...
Read moreI was looking for a new shop to come into and buy my cards from due to not overly impressed with other shops in the area. I saw an ad for Gold and Glory Gaming on Facebook and decided to make a trip up to check the store out. I walked in the door and was greeted by Joe and asked if I needed any help. I told him I was looking and would reach out if I needed assistance. I went at my own pace and didn't feel pressured to buy or talk to anyone. The store is clean and well organized. There are tables to play at for your gaming needs for either board games or card games. They host different events throughout the week and have a good community of players that attend these events. They have a wide selection of Pokemon, Magic, Metazoo, board games, sleeves, and and much more. Joe and James are the owners of the store and are great guys to talk with. Joe is the Pokemon expert and James is the Magic and Metazoo expert of the store. I felt very comfortable shopping here at their store and will definitely be back and recommend to anyone looking for a shop to go to for their needs. Being open 7 days a...
