I navigated the route using the AllTrails app. Parking is available right in front of the trailhead, just off the side of the road. There's a trash can at the trailhead. The trail markers don't match the route AllTrails shows, but both are viable trails. The AllTrails route has more views of the river, with additional benches and stopping places along the way. The marked trail has switchbacks down from the summit rather than the straight shot used by the AllTrails route. The views are stunning: the river below and surrounding mountains. Trail is well shaded. Humid and wet at the beginning in the lower parts (might be muddy, especially after a rain). This is a challenging route for small children (under 4), with a good amount of uphill. I recommend going in the opposite direction that AllTrails suggests, do the uphill part first (the right fork at the beginning of the trail); which gets you to the views faster and uses the most energy at the beginning of the hike, with a downhill and long flat...
Read moreGreat short hike! It’s only about a mile, so it does not take a long time like some other nearby options. Very shaded trail with great views. I’d recommend using the AllTrails app to make sure you stay on the right path, it intersects with some other trails and can be confusing. I’d highly recommend it for all ages! It is a little steep for a couple short stretches, but I hiked it with my pregnant wife with no problem. It is also across the street from some campgrounds so that’s a convenient option if you want to...

Trail starts out with a loop and a lookout, thisnis good for kids, it also continues on. We walked it for a while, but the path is fairly blank for the mile or two that we walked. Just...
