Continental Divide Trailhead — Attraction in Browning

A great butt-kicker of a trail with commanding views of Two Medicine Lake, Lower Two Medicine Lake, and the East Glacier & Browning areas! I tracked our hike to be 7.6 miles round trip with 2600 feet of elevation gain from the parking area to the top of Scenic Point. The parking area is small but it doesn't get too full. It's located abiut 0.5 miles from the Two Medicine General Store and on the main thoroughfare. The hike itself starts out in a wooded area, where you climb to Appistoki Falls about 0.7 miles in, then you ascend out of the trees onto the mountainside where switchbacks lead you to some cliffside paths which meander on up to the mountain top! It feels a bit out of Middle-Earth when you're hiking across this vast open plain on a peak! The views are incredible and visibility is clear for MANY miles in all directions. Moderately strenuous hike, there is an easier path at the back of the parking lot - there is a second trail noticeable on the way down, to the left that will take you back that way, it's easier and offers a monumental view of the crazy bald mountain in front or you. The trailhead is by the road, the first stretch of trail is mild with a few bump ups and more importantly it is gorgeous and there are lots of fascinating fungus colonies on the sides of the trail there.
