I'm a Tina Turner fan so I wanted to see the school house she went to that houses some of her dresses and things. It's not much to see, but it's free and the center itself showcases other historical things about the cotton industry, the Hatchie River life, and the many musicians blues and jazz that came from the area and some of their guitars and such, even a couple Elvis things. Their is a small gift shop with some Tina Turner shirts and novelty items, I wasn't impressed enough with the designs on the shirts to buy one, which actually bummed me out, I was also hoping to see a few of her books for sale like: I Tina or Tina Turner My Love Story, but they didn't have them, they had some other historical books on influential people. They walked the floor and pulled brochures, magazines and maps, marking all sorts of things that might make for good photography. They pulled other people from the office in, and asked them for suggestions as well.
I felt like these people were honestly invested in helping me make my photography trip to Tennessee a good one. After leaving I regretted not getting the woman's name who helped me, as I wanted to gift her a photo if I happened to capture something amazing.

The center has incredible pictures and memorabilia of Tina Turner, including displays of her incredible gowns! It's well worth the visit, just for Tina's memorabilia, and if you don't know Sleepy John Estes...look him up and listen to his music! What legends! And they are from Haywood County Tennessee. Check out Brownsville Tennessee! What an interesting place! Don't miss Livingston's Diner, just off the Square, in the old US Post Office!
