We drove through here during our most recent tour of Utah’s incredible National Parks. We drove through during a summer evening so the red hues were that much more enhanced by the setting sun.

We stumbled upon the sign which accurately sums the whole National Park System in Utah.

LIKE NOWHERE ELSE ON EARTH

Each area offers a totally different terrain and look into the geological past of the Earth.

Red Canyon is a special surprise nestled between the much better known Bryce and Zion parks. I definitely recommend making a point to...

I mountain biked this trail. I think if you were hiking there are better choices in the area, mainly in the park itself. It is a beautiful place to mountain bike and the views from the top are wonderful. I have 2 issues. First the trails werent designed for bikes, you can just tell. The second is they allow horses. Having to ride my bike thru miles of fresh steaming dung was disgusting. Did they all get bad Chinese food the night before? And they really tear up the trail. All in all, I would still...

Red Canyon is on the west side of the plateau that has Bryce on its east. Red Canyon is very scenic with many formations such as you find in Bryce, but by comparison it is very little used. If you are coming to the area on a day trip from the west side, you'll save about 45 minutes hiking around here instead of Bryce, and avoid crowds. The visitor center offers maps, exhibits, and knowledgeable advice. It also has water and toilets. There is a campground...

Definitely worth a stop on your way from Zion to Bryce. If you don't have time for a hike, at least stop and take a photo. it's totally worth it! Moro photos on Instagram @joyofthemoment.travel #joyofthemoment_utah
