The Rodeo ground is just across from Ruby's RV park where we were staying and we'd never been to one before, so off we went.

The stand was all a bit rickety and slightly unkempt which added to the atmosphere. There was shade from the hot sun.

The PA system was useless, so we couldn't understand what was going on, but was there anything other than crazy people trying to ride bucking animals?? We got what we wanted: grown men and women trying to stay on to the backs of crazed horses, cows and bulls. Madness! Very entertaining. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

Unfortunately, the evening's entertainment was marred by a bad accident where a woman on a horse crashed headlong into a wall and they had to get the air ambulance to take her away.

Other than that, we would recommend this as a good thing to do while at Bryce.

Absolute bummer. Showed up on Saturday for the Memorial weekend Rodeo with my traveling family filled with excitement only to soon be disappointed finding out after calling that there was no real certainty about the event. When we seen the sign at the location and heard from locals, Wednesday was the next opening day. We show up prepped and enthused only this time to show up with tumbleweed blowing the no one in sight other than others dressed and confused ready for a good time. To top it all off as we decided to look on the bright side and enjoy the area cow and horse gazing, very closely to the fence we find a dead baby calf. very depressing and concerning for the care of the rest of the animals on the land. We didn’t see water. When we called the Ruby Inn, they were not only dismissive but gave no information about when the rodeo will...

I swear I’ve never been so bored in my entire life. I’ve seen all kinds of shows, but this rodeo was painfully dull. You wait three endless minutes just to watch three miserable seconds of “action” — if you can even call it that. I swear on God that the snail race my neighbor once organized in his backyard, to see which snail would eat a piece of lettuce the fastest, was a thousand times more thrilling. At least the snail didn’t need to be kicked or whipped like these poor animals. This was not only boring but sad to watch. Save your time, your money, and your soul —...

This felt more like rodeo show and tell than a competition. The line up was dominated by young kids on sheep and calves. This is a great way for them to practice and pursue their passion. The mountains make a gorgeous backdrop for this event. However, I think the price was not worth what we got. If you have never been to a rodeo this will be interesting. If you have, you would be better served with finding something else to do.
