This is such a beautiful park! The main field is great to play sports with friends or fetch with your pets. The play area is always clean and in great condition. There is an abundance of picnic tables and grills for any gathering, big or small. But my favorite part by far is the botanical gardens! It is blooming with life and beautiful colors. If you want to learn some history of the area and science about the local environment, take some time to read the small plaques all around the garden. Read moreThe SYV Botanic Garden is on the west side of the park. Just walk over a bridge into this area. There are informative posters, describing the watershed , and Chumash uses of plants for structures and medicine. An exhibit of painted hubcaps fancifully depicting "Nature Takes the Wheel" will be there through 2020 (at least). It is a very natural, peaceful place. Many sycamore trees provide shade, but in general it is sunny and cheerful. There's 3 picnic tables under trees in garden but bring wipes to clean table.Theres a mini gathering area, fountain, faerie climbing garden and mini play house, willow maze & wishing tree, Chumash Tule hut and more! When you leave the garden there's a 1/4 mile trail with 4 poop bag stations, water dish for🐶, 2 large picnic areas with playgrounds and gazebo, 🏀 courts, horseshoe area and soccer pitch.
