Reason for visiting: Modern Talking concert Date/time of visit: Saturday night, ~7:00 PM Parking: they offer parking for $10 I think but it's stacked parking, which means depending on who you're parked behind, you may be stuck. We got dropped off (no Uber) but they have a ride share drop off near the entrance; about a 5-15 min walk uphill. Party size: ~20-30 people, no kids Environment/ambience: Man make sure to wear comfortable shoes and clothes! There's a lot of walking uphill! Seeing all these girls struggle with high heels makes it painful to watch sometimes š«¢ We sat in the back, lawn seating; you can bring blankets and food in. We all sat on the lawn, pretty fun. Can prob sneak in alcohol although the rules are kinda sketchy; the site says you can bring in food as long as it's not a huge event or something, forgot the actual wording but a lot of people brought in food and drinks (with alcohol). No need to dump cigs (can walk through security with it); you can smoke inside but make sure to be careful since the surrounding areas are all trees, bushes, etc. Pretty fun place for a concert; not too big but not too small either. The uphill nature makes it kinda annoying though. Also, we ran into some people that just cut the line thinking it's ok or something; not sure why they think that and/or why they even try to justify what they're doing.. pretty freakin' annoying but there's no security when forming lines. The shuttle buses will not drop you off at the front of the line, FYI. It's cool to take the shuttle but you'll probably have to walk down into line; no separate line for shuttles Service: staff was friendly; turned a blind eye to some things Food: they offer concession stand type of food: corn dogs, pretzels, wine, alcohol (not full bar). But you can bring in your own food (prob recommended to save some scrilla) Cost: didn't spend much; we bought 2 bottles of wine, corn dogs,...

Since my surgery 4 weeks ago, I was scared to go to a concert or any kind of outing, really. My mobility has been limited, and I donāt have much experience with ADA accessibility but I was gonna have to learn. I shuffled over from our car in the gravel parking lot with my walker (not fun, but doable) to the shuttle pickup spot on the sidewalk at the bottom of the hill.
The shuttle drivers were so kind and accommodating, they even had a crate to step on to help me get into the Sprinter Bus, and they were more than happy to help me step in and out. Once up the hill, there is an additional smaller hill to get into the amphitheater itself. I was dreading going up that with my walker, but a security guard we were walking by actually offered to push me up the hill in a wheelchair they had, I didnāt even have to ask!
Concessions were fine, not too pricy and pretty good selection, considering itās concert concessions, not a food truck or anything. We also ended up becoming friends with the other group of folks in the ADA-accessible section, and I also heard that theyāve updated their policy on ticket purchases! Previously, if you were buying a ticket for yourself in the ADA Accessible section, youād only be able to buy one other ticket (unless the person coming with you is also in need of accessibility). Now the policy actually states you can buy 3 other tickets in the section, so no more lonely disabled friends, sitting by themselves or with one other person separated from their friend group in the general admission section.
THANK YOU Starlight Bowl, I canāt wait to come back for another show and see you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was blessed with tickets to Mariachi Vargas and it was a very interesting experience at The Starlight Bowl! Having been my 1st time here, I didn't realize that parking was going to be a feat to deal with. There were shuttle buses available to bus people up to the top after parking and everything was extremely organized.
The ticket rules said no Alcohol allowed but food and non alcoholic drinks were allowed. However, I noticed many people did not read the fine print and brought bottles/coolers of alcohol which is why the bag check lines were extra long.
Alcohol is sold in the arena and a glass of house wine was $16. Pricey but I suppose those daylight robbery prices are to be expected which is why I brought our own cans of sodas/waters and snacks from Porto's for the 8 of us.
The rows of benches are very clearly numbered but for a 3+hr concert, it'd be smart to bring seat cushions as my tush was a little sore at the end of the evening.
As we were exiting, I was very surprised at the level of coordination to leave the arena in an orderly manner and even get out of the parking lot where we were all packed like sardines 4 cars in a single file. If you're pregnant and having a baby, you'd NOT have been able to just drive off, that's for sure! But if there is no emergency, all is good.
I did notice a pungent order coming from the restrooms with super long lines. This is why people should not have been drinking beers in the first place.
Overall, this was a great evening. My only suggestion is having better and larger...
