Overall: 4.7/5 (dine in)
The Green Room is a speakeasy in the Castaway restaurant. You have to make reservations since they don't take walk-ins. There's valet parking in front for $8. You check in at the front then they will lead you to a door near the restrooms. You have to wait for your server to come out and get you. They take you in and offer you their cocktail of the day from their Once Upon A Time fountain. After you get your glass, they will seat you at your table. The service here is phenomenal. They live up to their words of providing VIP service and really making sure you have the best experience possible. The servers are well aware that everything presented will most likely be photographed By guests so they tell you when it's a good time to take a photo/video and even leave the display until you're done!
Three Wishes-Monkey ($38): This is an Aladdin inspired cocktail set for 2. They bring it out on a tea set and ask if you want to rub the lamp and make a wish. Then they pour out your cocktails into the 2 tea cups. The cocktail does not taste like what you expect. You don't taste the listed lemon or Jasmine honey so it must be the Monkey 47. I wasn't crazy about this drink but my husband was.
Crazy Rich Cocktail ($22): This is made of Dos Gabachos Mezcal, Cucumber, Agave, Lime, Butterfly Pea Flower. This was our least favorite cocktail. The flavors just didn't work together.
Truffle Popcorn Chicken ($19): The truffle popcorn was so much better the second time. You can taste the truffle & the chicken was soft. Wish they gave more chicken though. The sweet chili ketchup was a great dip for the popcorn chicken.
Steak Tartare "Cigars" ($25): Wow, I would never eat raw meat but this was amazing. First off, the presentation was beautiful. The steak tartare was stuffed inside an egg roll wrapper to make it a cigar shape, & the cigars were presented inside a book with smoke coming out when opened. You have to dip the cigars in the ardberg hollandaise sauce; it just elevates the taste.
Caviar Frites ($25): This was not a great combo. The caviar did not taste good with the fries so this is a hard pass.
Nueske (Beeler's) Bacon Baos ($23): The bacon baos come with 3 baos but since we had 4 in our group, we asked if they could cut it into 4. They ended up giving 4 baos total and free of charge! The baos also ended up being the best dish of the night. The baos were a unique color, like a tie-dye black and we're soft. The chicharron was tender. Flavors were on point. The Fresno pepper was spicy.
Lost in the Big Apple ($19): This is their holiday drink made with Hennessy apple brandy, Krupnik bitters, crushed streusel. The drink was inspired by "Home Alone" and served in a bed of pine cones. I actually like this holiday drink more so I must be an ABG at heart lol I like that it was strong enough and the streusel really gives it another level of complexity & texture. Highly recommend.
Rebel Without A Claus ($19): This is their second drink made of Empress Gin, Peach Schnapps, and Santa's "berry hat". This was stronger than expected and less sweet. The drink was placed in a corner of a snowy tree scenery. The server does a little snow action but the cranking machine is a bit poor quality so I think it could do without it.
Still Water ($11): So expensive for a bottle of water,...
Read moreA hidden lounge at Castaway Burbank. WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!! Everything about this place is soooo cool. The view, food, ambience, service are all amazing!! I believe it is a reservation only and they are only open four days a week for only like six hours each day. After we enter the lounge, we are greeted with a free cocktail from the Once Upon A Time fountain #yaaasss. We try so many foods and two of the cocktails:
Filet Mignon Sammie. THE BEST! MUST TRY!! Meat is perfectly cooked and tender. Milk bread is toasted very well, it’s soft with slightly crunchy crust. The dip goes very well with the sandwich. so good!!
Hot Seafood Tower. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I grow up eating so much seafood so I’m kinda a lil bit sick of eating seafood LOL, but the rest of my party loves this so much! This is the best dish for them!! They are grilled and seasoned very well. Each bite is very flavorful and it’s cooked just right. Nothing is under or overcooked.
Bacon Bao, a pork belly bun. The black bun is kinda shocking HAHA. The flavor of this dish is stronger than the other dishes. It’s sweet, spicy, soft, and also crunchy. I likee it!
Parmesan Proscuitto Croquette. Another favorite of mine. MUST ORDER! It’s very soft and flavorful. The inside of the croquette melts!! YUMMYYY.
Truffle Popcorn Chicken. An interesting dish. Not used to eating popcorn chicken with truffle, but the more I eat it, the better it tastes HAHAHA!
Flamin’ Chicken Sliders. Just okay. It’s good, but not like superb.
A Pie-rites Life For Me. This dessert is VERY PRETTY!! This dessert is flambeed on the table, so we get to see a fire attraction here, which is sooo cool! And most importantly, this is good! Love the banana cream pie that has icy texture and the butter cake that is soft.
Three Wishes. The presentation of their cocktails is very impressive. This is an aladdin inspired cocktail.
The Great Escape. This cocktail comes from a wodden airplane. This one is impired by Jumanji I believe (?). The presentation of their cocktails is just too...

We had reservations and got seated. Waited almost 30 mins, and no one even asked us if we wanted water or any drinks, etc - not a great 1st impression at this point.
After a few mins waiting we asked the girl who sat us if we could get some service, she was like ok, but no one ever came. So, I went out front and spoke to the front desk, and they spoke to the manager, who then came over and apologized to us for the lack of service and got us a waiter, and also comped some drinks.
The DJ was ridiculously loud. You can't even hear anyone from your own party sitting right next to you. I asked if we could move outside, and they were nice enough to move us, which made it a tad bit better. It was like being in the front row of a concert, which I dont get for a speakeasy. It is very hard to enjoy anything when music is that loud.
The view is what makes this place a 5. They have the potential to be a 5 in food and service as well with some very minor tweaks.
Their dessert tower is fun except our waiter wasn't able to get those candle rockets to stand, another waitress had to help hold them up, which you'll see in my video. I sampled many of the desserts, which were good, but I didn't care for all of them. All of them seemed like they were made by a 3rd party.
Definitely recommend going, esp for someone's birthday or special occasion, anniversary, date, etc. I was with my friends who were visiting from out of state, so I was glad they went out of their way to make up for how the...
