Library will be closed for two weeks in January 2025. During that time library staff will be cataloging 31,000+ books for return to the AMY Regional system. This is driven by Yancey County Commissioners. The Commission will be taking total control of the library n mid 2025 and provide services lost by withdrawal from AMY. This services lost includes the bookmobile, all computers, community enrichment programs. County Manager will provide for necessary taxpayer funding, a magority of which is currently provided through AMY, for those lost books n services caused by the withdrawal.
