I mountain bike here at least 2-3 times per week. Fantastic smooth, flowy single track. Beautiful wildflowers in the spring and early summer into July. Awesome views of the surrounding mountains, and sunsets are spectacular!

Another bonus โ€“ never seems crowded. Last evening right after work, I had the whole place to myself it seemed.

The trail network is much bigger than one might initially think. They criss-cross the whiskey gulch and mountain side.

There are also some nice built up jumps and even a BMX pump track if you should desire to send it. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

However, the trails are all easily rideable on a gravel bike.

The parking lots are large and gravel covered. Two main parking lots, one just west of Montana Tech University and the other off of Oro Fino Road to the north. Parking is free, no entrance fees.

I usually ride from home....

There are a number of trails that circumnavigate Big Butte and travel down into Whiskey Gulch. You can drive up to the lower base on the "M" (or "V" ). The road closes at dusk to vehicles. There is a beautiful view of Butte from this vantage point. You can see from Wallerville down onto the flat. Definitely was worth the side trip and few wrong turns getting up the there. You will want to take a look at the pictures as they tell a much...

Having a folf course next to a bike course and college seems like a good idea till you see that the folf course is destroyed. Many of the baskets have been taken probably by some college idiots. So good luck finding the holes or staying on the course. Also, trash every where like cant the campus pay some people to clean up? It's just showing you that even the college in...

Great place to hike, walk a dog, or ride a bike. This area is adjacent to Montana Tech, which has a folf course and fledgling mountain bike skills park. Classic Montana views and a great view of the city at night.
