My favorite wine/vineyard in Sonoma. They have been making amazing wine since the early 1900s and still family owned and run. The grounds are stunningly gorgeous and the wine is superb. Old school, non filtered, French oak barrels, good red wines. The owner, Mr. Rafanelli, sat down with our group of four for over 40 minutes and shared the history of the vineyard, starting with his grandmother coming to America from Italy. He was an absolute delight and it was the highlight of our weeklong trip! Of note- you must have an appointment to visit as they do not take walkins. However, it is well worth your time and effort to visit.!

Tremendous wines and a beautiful property. Limited vintages available right now due to recent wildfires. One of the most iconically beautiful vineyards and cellar doors in the entire county in my opinion but missing opportunities by not serving light bites along with their wines in the various seating areas around the property. Instead they seem to have a policy of rushing visitors out the door pretty quickly. That’s the only reason for the missing fifth star. - Certainly not because of the wine or the location! A must visit for any Zinfandel or Cab enthusiast.

Charming family owned and run winery. We were excited that we were finally able to join the A Rafanelli club A list. Tasting room staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They even offered to give us a tour of the wine cave. We came on a chilly and cloudy day so we were unable to enjoy the scenic and charming outdoor tasting area. Hoping next time the sun will be shining on us!

If you want a unique experience and looking to buy a couple bottles of really good wine that you will probably not be able to find back home-then make sure you stop here. They are a family owned winery that chooses to only produce small amount of wine so they can take their time and produce great wines. They have cab and cab/Merlot mix that are wonderful. The bottles are about 40$ and at time of our visit no cost for tasting (not typical tasting room) and small tour. Note if you visit in May they might be closed. Their local wine members pick up theirs wine and celebrate during that time so they close to The public. Memberships are limited...
