Walked in on a Sunday afternoon for a tasting. Beautiful grounds even on a rainy February day. Can only imagine how nice this would be in season. We were greeted with a warm welcome and asked if we wanted to have our tasting in their welcome area or proceed to their cellar. We of course chose their wine cellar area and it was absolutely perfect for a tasting, sitting alongside their barrels and other wine paraphernalia. Bernie our wine attendant was genuine, professional, patient, and very well versed on Dry Creek's wine making methodology. They offered 11 different wines to taste with 5 per person. We chose 10 of the 11 to get the true variety and found most of them very very good. They're mainly a Bordeaux style winery with many varieties of Zinfandel but we found their chardonnay to be excellent as well. We ordered a mixed case and received a nice discount on the wines and shipping for joining their wine club which had minimal requirements for future purchases which doesn't lock you in to overpriced releases you may not want. We were on a last minute 2 day trip in the area and didn't have any reservations anywhere, so we took pot luck and drove around Healdsburg looking for wineries. Fortunately we found Dry Creek and rate them in the top 10 of about 50 wineries we've visited in the Napa/Sonoma region over the years. We highly...
Read moreWe had a fantastic visit at Dry Creek - elegant Bordeaux flight tasting. Lovely picnic table in their grass garden with an umbrella. We celebrated a birthday and anniversary they very kindly provided a chocolate as a gift. We purchased a glass of additional wine, and a charcuterie board - they cheese, crackers and cured meats selection was wonderful. We booked our reservation about a week ahead of time, though they had various options available. Our host was awesome, she knew their wine selection very well, she guided us through the Vinyard's history, the types of grapes and methods they used to produce the wine, and was very kind & courteous. If you buy a few bottles they also comp the tasting fee, so we took advantage of that offering. Highly recommend visiting Dry Creek - we are seriously thinking of becoming a...
Read moreStopped in on a whim and was thoroughly impressed. I’ve “known about” Dry Creek Vineyard for years and have enjoyed some of their wines but for whatever reason had never stopped in. Today we had some time between other appointments so decided to pop in and holy crow I am glad we did. First of all the place is just gorgeous. Like pack a lunch and get comfortable kind of gorgeous. Lots of shaded seating outdoors with nice views and a totally relaxed vibe. Second - the tasting is more of a guided tour through an impressive portfolio of wines that you can only get at the cellar door. I had NO idea. The staff are all well informed, cheerful, and incredibly friendly and down to earth. No snobbery or condescension here. An absolutely fantastic visit and on the list for a...
