Feb 2026 - Went on sunday after noon, thought it was less smoky but spend few hours there, it was so bad and went home and cough for two days 🤣. It getting worse, wish they put back the non smoke room instead of the cigars area. Slot still very tight compare to other casinos, if a $100 buck in a machine and without a single bonus, casino is way too tight. Foods courts and resturaunts still great, good foods, price is decent not cheap tho. Had an special burger at 32, its pretty good. Jan 2026 - Sky didn't do much for me as far for xmas and new year. No free play, no gift, no dinner etc.. Redhawlk did invited me to their VIP lobster dinner, hard rock does have at least BOGO to their lobster buffet, GSR has good offer for free play and ceasar tahoe did have few dinner invite to their tahoe properites. Sky need to do better, if there is no buffet, at least some free play during the month. They seems like they don't care much for players vs other casinos. 😫
Nov. 2025 - Haven't been back for a while. I find slots here now out of 4 slots, 3 are very tight and one loose, not really enjoying much when play. it would be better if 50/50 vs to hard rock and redhwalk. No free play for years or free gifts etc. Think I won't be back much till they are done with all their buildings.
september 2025 - Try out the new Fork on the road food truck just openned. the idea is great, it can easily be changed to different type of foods when needed. We try the greek out today. I got the lamb, meat was tastely but freind got the chicken is not that great taste. they messed up something and we waited 30 minutes to get our foods. I would not order greek again tho till they got new foods. Slots is 50/50, half ok and have will drain you.
August 2025 - The dessert section has moved in the food court making room for new eating place. Smoothie are expensive, cost about $12 for one, insane price. Slots still very tight. Put in $100, loose about $60 and hit a bonus and it pays $14 😂. It already hard to get a bonus but the pays for bonus is horrible. Better off just stay home till they done with building of the hotel. The $5 off for foods on Wed is great still but free play can't barely play anything.
March 2025 - they now have build your own pizza, which is great. You can choose like 10 different items. Initial starting Pizza is $12 and each item added is $1 more. Pho price has few prices range now but still expensive vs going outside. Slot still tight, there some loose but more tight then loose.
Jan. 2025 - prices in the foods Court went up, a bowl of Pho now like $22 plus tax, cost more than outside restaurants. Sky should lower the prices instead of rising to attract customers coming to the casino like costco grilled chicken 😂. Machine still tight on low rollers. People starting to use multiple cards for free play cards on Thursdays & Wednesdays 😃. If sky care, Sky should do multiplier day or free gifts days or even free foods vouchers day 😂
Nov. 2024 - first time try the tofu chowmeim, is not too bad. Haven't get any free play since many moons. Slots still super tight. Put $100 in a machine, didn't even get one bonus. Is not worth going anymore unless just bring 20$ on wed for the discounts foods 😂. Sky needs to do better for low rollers or be really boring playing at sky.
OP: Stop by and try out the slots. It somewhat loose on certain machine but still better than other casinos. The food court is nice l, got several choices of foods. Prices at food court is average. Water bottle is pricey for a tiny bottle. Wish they got drink station like redhawk. ATM mostly out of service and the line for cashier is so long 😔. Parking ok in day time, night time can be tough. Casinos should give out free slot plays per week to keep customer happy. I will post updates in few weeks 😀
Revisited in November 2022 and I’m downgrading this to one star for four crucial reasons:
The machines are extremely tight with poor payouts. This is subjective, but I certainly never win and rarely see people psyched about winning here. Obviously, playing at an unregulated tribal casino in California you should expect slots to be tight, but these are so tight they can turn coal into diamonds.
The smoke smell is very strong throughout the property. Even if there isn’t a smoker next to you, the smell still lingers. I also noted many full ashtrays that weren’t being cleaned, which I’m sure didn’t help. The poor ventilation at this casino is embarrassing considering how new it is.
Drink services continues to be a major issue. They do finally have cocktail waitresses roaming the casino floor, but they are few and far between. There is NO SELF-SERVICE option anywhere on property. No drinks stations, no soda machines, no water coolers. Your only options for drinks are three bars scattered around the casino, but two of them are never staffed. I arrived at the center bar at 9 a.m. to find two employees milling about touching everything in the bar and talking to each other. One turned to me and said, “Give us 15 minutes.” Two humans, in the bar, the ONLY staffed bar on property, but they can’t provide any service for 15 minutes? On a Saturday morning? Absolutely pathetic.
Security here is overzealous and incompetent. I brought an iPad to browse during downtime and was very rudely demanded to put it away. When I asked why, the security guard mumbled something about “recording patterns.” He could not explain why iPads are banned on the casino floor, nor the contradiction of phones and watches being okay but iPads not. I also tried to enter the casino with a stuffed animal in a paper bag and was told I could not enter the casino with it. No explanation given, no rule cited, just rudely told to get out. My shoulder bag was a-ok, but no teddy bears! The security staff here strike me as high school dropouts who make up policies on the spot just because they like telling people what to do. These are the kind of people who should never have power; but it seems these are the only people who work security at this establishment. I have reached out to Sky River multiple times inquiring about their electronics and bag policies but received no response.
So is there anything good about this casino? I guess the food is pretty good, and the bathrooms were clean, and it’s right on 99. Just don’t gamble, be prepared to leave smelling like an ashtray, bring your own bottled water, and NO TEDDY BEARS!
I thought, I'd try something different and simple. It's in the food court of Sky River which I find not to mean much. I had a $30 food comp and planned on having a late eating with my mother. I ordered 2 chopped salads without garbanzo beans due to a blood disorder. I thought this was simple and uncomplicated......IT'S A SALAD!
It was a little wait, but I used the time wisely and went and ordered a plain croissant (took 8 minutes and was heated up, even though I said don't heat). Oh Boy! I came back to the Fork on The Road, and my salads were bagged and waiting. I made sure to ask if garbanzo beans were taken off and they were. What I didn't know was that they took off the cured meat too (laughing now but not funny once home). $15 a piece for a salad and it cannot be made correctly. I wonder what happens when something more intricate is ordered.
I've had some orders in the food court not be right but a salad! How did you ever think, I wouldn't notice there was no cured meat? Well, once back in Rio Vista, many cities away from Elk Grove, I find this discrepancy. I had the croissant slice and butter, mother waiting, our favorite show cued for viewing and then WAIT FOR IT........NO CURED MEAT ON THE SALAD! There went our plans. I called Sky River and customer service was closed. I then found a number in my phone (no name will be given due to privacy). All I know is that the number was connected to Sky River, so I knew it had to be an employee from previous issues encountered. I called and talked with this individual who was not at work but home. I first asked were they an employee of Sky River due to me sometimes making mistakes when putting in contact information. I apologized for bothering them at home and proceeded to tell them about the issue at hand. I must say, some of Sky Rivers employees are champions. After speaking, I felt somewhat better and assured the person that I would follow-up on 11/13/2025. So, the bottom line is the salad was a waste, had to go and fix something else in the kitchen, agitated as all outdoors of the unprofessionalism of the employees working who STUCK ME WITH A FORK! I followed up on 11/13/2025: customer service and Lorna Lee Alejandra(champions). I then receive a call from Josh ( General manager Market)while in another line which he left a message. I returned the call and left a message. I called again on 11/14/2025 without a callback. I called customer service and left a message: I will be returning both salads with receipts on Saturday 11/15/2025. Thanks for the great customer care!!!!
