Revisited in November 2022 and I’m downgrading this to one star for four crucial reasons: 1. The machines are extremely tight with poor payouts. This is subjective, but I certainly never win and rarely see people psyched about winning here. Obviously, playing at an unregulated tribal casino in California you should expect slots to be tight, but these are so tight they can turn coal into diamonds. 2. The smoke smell is very strong throughout the property. Even if there isn’t a smoker next to you, the smell still lingers. I also noted many full ashtrays that weren’t being cleaned, which I’m sure didn’t help. The poor ventilation at this casino is embarrassing considering how new it is. 3. Drink services continues to be a major issue. They do finally have cocktail waitresses roaming the casino floor, but they are few and far between. There is NO SELF-SERVICE option anywhere on property. No drinks stations, no soda machines, no water coolers. Your only options for drinks are three bars scattered around the casino, but two of them are never staffed. I arrived at the center bar at 9 a.m. to find two employees milling about touching everything in the bar and talking to each other. One turned to me and said, “Give us 15 minutes.” Two humans, in the bar, the ONLY staffed bar on property, but they can’t provide any service for 15 minutes? On a Saturday morning? Absolutely pathetic. 4. Security here is overzealous and incompetent. I brought an iPad to browse during downtime and was very rudely demanded to put it away. When I asked why, the security guard mumbled something about “recording patterns.” He could not explain why iPads are banned on the casino floor, nor the contradiction of phones and watches being okay but iPads not. I also tried to enter the casino with a stuffed animal in a paper bag and was told I could not enter the casino with it. No explanation given, no rule cited, just rudely told to get out. My shoulder bag was a-ok, but no teddy bears! The security staff here strike me as high school dropouts who make up policies on the spot just because they like telling people what to do. These are the kind of people who should never have power; but it seems these are the only people who work security at this establishment. I have reached out to Sky River multiple times inquiring about their electronics and bag policies but received no response. So is there anything good about this casino? I guess the food is pretty good, and the bathrooms were clean, and it’s right on 99. Just don’t gamble, be prepared to leave smelling like an ashtray, bring your own bottled water, and NO TEDDY BEARS!

The good: Plenty of baccarat tables, and slot machines (which I rarely play) in the high and low limit areas. The steak house is a bit pricey, but EXCELLENT! Easy to get a table there, even during peak hours. The rib eye and filet mignon are outstanding. I tried their mac & cheese with lobster for the first time recently and was very impressed. The service is always great too! I suppose that it should be if you are spending at least $75-$100 per person for appetizers, an entree and desert, add $40 if you have a couple of cocktails. The irritating: SUPER SMOKEY! I know it's an Indian casino and I don't expect purified fresh air, tbh, I enjoy a cigar a few times a year so Im not that bothered. However, it is very noticeable & SR casino really needs to address/upgrade their HVAC system as it is sub standard. and obviously needs better filtration. You can actually see plumes of smoke and haze the second you walk in. My friend (a non smoker/marathon runner) complained about their eyes burning/watering as it was a busy Sat night and had to go outside a few times for fresh air breaks. The smoke in other Nor Cal casinos is considerably less noticeable. What grinds my gears(shit I really don't like): Sky River's rewards/comp program is a joke. I only play table games and despite regularly buying in for at least $2k per visit, the host balked when I asked her for a dinner comp, for just myself. Didn't ask for any booze, After plaing a couple of hours at $100 a hand on this particular visit, I only requested a meal. Not sure if it is because I was way up (I had more than tripled my buy in) or what but her reaction was as if I'd asked her to paint my house in the summer, by herself! This lady said that I hadn't "lost enough" to earn a dinner comp! Now I know that casino folks are by nature, greedy, blood sucking parasites that care only about $$$. Which is why I love taking their money! Everyone knows this, but this joint takes unabashed greed to an entirely new level! They are going to wind up like Jackson Rancheria if they keep up these shenanigans. Something is patently amiss if your business makes your competition -Hard Rock, Red Hawk and Thunder V look generous.

March 2025 - they now have build your own pizza, which is great. You can choose like 10 different items. Initial starting Pizza is $12 and each item added is $1 more. Pho price has few prices range now but still expensive vs going outside. Slot still tight, there some loose but more tight then loose.

Jan. 2025 - prices in the foods Court went up, a bowl of Pho now like $22 plus tax, cost more than outside restaurants. Sky should lower the prices instead of rising to attract customers coming to the casino like costco grilled chicken 😂. Machine still tight on low rollers. People starting to use multiple cards for free play cards on Thursdays & Wednesdays 😃. If sky care, Sky should do multiplier day or free gifts days or even free foods vouchers day 😂

Nov. 2024 - first time try the tofu chowmeim, is not too bad. Haven't get any free play since many moons. Slots still super tight. Put $100 in a machine, didn't even get one bonus. Is not worth going anymore unless just bring 20$ on wed for the discounts foods 😂. Sky needs to do better for low rollers or be really boring playing at sky.

August 2024 - Try out the breakfasts menu. Is not too bad. You can get breakfast anytime of the day. Machines still quite tight vs other local casinos. I only go once awhile now till they done with the hotel they're planning.

June 2024 - sky has new slots here there. Food courts still great. No more free plays or gift, nada. Brought $100. Sit down on a alot. Play $60 on a 75 cent bet not even bonus. Machine seems very tight. For low rollers not worth going. I just go for the foods and leave.when I can else be donations. 😢

March 2024 - no free play as of today. Going weekly and still get nothing. I think they only give to people stop going, its sad. I am stop going and going much less now. The food court has few menu changes. Try out the Vietnam Banh mi, is ok but the bread is pretty hard, like old bread. Probably won't try that again 😂.

January 2024 - no free play and it getting tighter and tighter on machines. Not great for low rollers, pretty much donating to high rollers. They do pay for some higher rollers. Nothing in the flyers neither. No free gifts, you have to earn at least 500 points for one. Food court same great foods. Redhawk is doing better now. Free gifts, lobster buffet, more looses machines sometimes even free hotels stay.

Dec 2023 - Been few months this place has not give out any free play. No fliers sent or haven't seen any. Redhawk and hard rock still giving out gifts and free play. Seems like sky river doesn't care much for players. They do need a new promotion team 😂

Nov 2023 - no free play for this month or any flier sent home. Used to see it. Machines pretty tight vs loose, this almost similar when redhawk was building their hotels, super tight. No multipliers or gifts period. Wish they do more to attract customers. Low roller pay so little, mind as well stay home.

Oct 2023 - no free play for this month even going weekly. Think they should hire a new promotion team 😂. There nothing for the weekend and haven't seen any multipliers, free gifts vs other casinos. The dumbling bowl seems to be smaller then before. Slot some ok but mostly tight and loosing.

OP: Stop by and try out the slots. It somewhat loose on certain machine but still better than other casinos. The food court is nice l, got several choices of foods. Prices at food court is average. Water bottle is pricey for a tiny bottle. Wish they got drink station like redhawk. ATM mostly out of service and the line for cashier is so long 😔. Parking ok in day time, night time can be tough. Casinos should give out free slot plays per week to keep customer happy. I will post updates in...

Revisited in November 2022 and I’m downgrading this to one star for four crucial reasons:

Posting this here because I’ve made attempts to reach out to the casino with no response back…

To whom it may concern,

I was at your casino on Tuesday, March 26th 2024. While I was playing some of your games, my cell phone was stolen. Once I was aware that my phone had been stolen, i immediately went to the rewards desk to ask if anyone had turned it In to them. I explained my situation and they referred me to the security guards. I went over and spoke with the security and let them know my phone was stolen and that they they put in a radio request to see if any of the other security guards had found it. They said no.

About 20 minutes later I went back to security and asked that they look on the surveillance video to see whom might have stolen it. They said that they dont look at footage for missing phones. I let them know that I thought it was stolen from me, and they still did not make any attempt to help me retrieve it. I even said the people that took it might still be here.. They simply said that they would not look at security footage for me.

About 20 minutes or so later, I asked one of the security guards if I could speak to a manager. They told me that it was “shift change” and that it would be a while. I waited for 2 hours before going back to the guards and see where the manager was. The guards assured me that the manager would tell me the same thing, that they would not look at footage for me.

Question; If I had been an elderly woman who got her purse stolen, would you have pulled up the footage for me? Is it because I’m a man that I wasn’t offered help? Or that it was “just a phone?”

I tried to explain to security they It was more than just a phone to me. My entire life savings was on that phone in an unretrieveable crypto account. As well as My passwords, my pictures, and my banking accounts.. Within 2 hours of my phone being stolen, most of my bank accounts were hacked into along with my turbo tax account and my credit karma account .

Aren’t your surveillance cameras in place to protect your customers? Or are they just to protect your money?

Update: after management read my review.. manager told me to contact him to see what he could do to help. We talked for 15 minutes and I expressed my frustration, what the loss meant to me, and how the security guards literally didn’t care when I needed their help.

Generous Manager offered me a $15 food voucher for...
