If you have binoculars and a thirst for bird watching, this is the place! There are a lot of signs indicating where specific birds tend to be nested. And it's true! It's like a zoo but without cages! It is a very chill hike, very dry even when it is 65F. Cloudy but still makes for plenty of sunshine. So expect this place to get hot if you come in the summer! Dog friendly! You'll find other people bringing their dogs. There's also one port-o-potty at the very beginning of the trail. There is a little stream that can become larger with heavier rain. It didn't make the location as cool since there was only 3.8 inches of rain. Though I only rate it a 4 since I'm biased towards hikes with more water and denser trees.

Such a beautiful hike! The views are breathtaking. The hike itself is moderate with steady incline all the way to the peak. The beginning of the trail runs along a stream which is so lovely to listen to and there is some shade at the bottom of the hike but as it progresses, there is less shade. Port-a-potty at the head of the trail, otherwise, no other restrooms. A few spots traverse over active roads.

Did this hike up from Stunt Rd and hiked the ridge trail to the lookout. Exited and hiked down Stunt to Coldwater reserve, which is a locked gate now. The fence is broken and entered on the left. Coldwater reserve trail is in bad shape and very overgrown we found remnants of the old mountain restoration project. The entire trip was 4.6 hours car to car

Great place to start off for several hikes/trails. Nice spring-fed creek in the bowl, good port-a-potty at the trailhead, and most trails are not too busy. The preserve itself can be cool on a hot day, due to being in a canyon, abundant shade, and the creek. Other trails are more exposed and hence, hotter.

For great views and rock scrambling, cross the road to the Calabasas Peak trail, behind the pipe gate. Several great options from this trailhead, with incredible views and rock spines with caves to explore, and a back way into Red Rock Canyon.

Parking can be difficult, but otherwise,...
