2021 update- I come into town to visit grandbabies and I travel with three dogs. Waller Park has been a great place to let the dogs play at the dog park. Today I arrived and the Ranger informed me that vehicles over 20ft are no longer allowed. He said there's no signage but it's on it's way. He suggested I park outside the park and walk in. I'm disabled and some days, like today I'm having extreme difficulty walking. There's absolutely no way I could walk that far today. Yet another reason to let the dogs play at the dog park. They get their exercise while I sit. Pretty disturbed by this new rule. Not to mention the effects it has on my depression. Being at the park has offered me a nice quiet serene atmosphere. 2017- Great place to get away for the day. Nice little walking trails through the trees, a dog park with separate areas for small and large dogs. Good playground equipment for kids, especially the spinning thingy! ! Bring duck food for the ducks and geese. Fishing is available in the small pond, though I'm not sure on licensing. (Check before you go). Many bbq pits available. Great for intimate, small or...
Read moreWaller Park is an absolute gem for nature enthusiasts and families alike. The expansive green space, adorned with majestic trees, provides a soothing respite from the urban hustle and bustle. The pond teeming with vibrant birdlife adds a touch of wildlife magic to the experience.
One of the park's standout features is the dedicated dog park, a haven for our furry companions to frolic and socialize. The availability of ample parking space ensures a hassle-free visit, and the presence of well-maintained picnic tables encourages delightful outdoor gatherings.
While the public restrooms are generally kept tidy, a bit of extra attention could elevate the overall experience. Nonetheless, this minor point hardly detracts from the park's overall charm.
In sum, Waller Park's spaciousness, lush greenery, and thoughtful amenities make it a must-visit destination for those seeking a slice of nature's tranquility right in the heart of the city. It's a testament to the potential for urban spaces to harmoniously coexist with the...
Read morePony rides on weekends are where it's at. Super friendly down home staff. It's apparent they love kids and animals the way they look after each customer. This is a generational business that keeps family traditions alive. The founder of the business passed recently so the daughter and her husband keep thing afloat currently. A lot of pride went into the original construction of the old time western town surrounding the circle pen. The daughter returned to the business post covid to find that the structures had aged and we're in disrepair. Took it upon herself to make new signage, repair and meticulously repaint the facades of the old facades. This kind of tradition seems to be hard to find today. Head over for a relaxing time watching your kids have an authentic old timey experience while your greeted with pleasant conversation from the original family members. Can't wait to go back. Tips are appreciated which I was completely unprepared for so I'll get you next time....
