Hiked here on a fall morning with family and 2 small dogs. This is a short but hard hike. You traverse damp ground, small waterfalls, and climb larger rocks. It's a great hike and as long as you are in decent shape, should have no problem climbing to the lake at the top. The views from the hike itself are awesome, especially with the fall foliage colors. The small dogs were able to climb to the way top, but were too tired to climb back down.
Overall, even with breaks for the dogs and a rest at the top, the hike did not take over 3 hours. The rains the previous days made all the paths muddy with many smaller waterfalls, but I would not have wanted it any other way!
