The War Vet Museum — Attraction in Canfield

With family in Youngstown area for years, I have driven by The War Vet Museum for years but never went in because the hours of operation were so limited. Now they are only 10 am to 2 pm on Saturdays. So recently, when back to Ohio from Chicago, I happened to go by near their closing time, and decided to go in not expecting much. But WOW! What a place! Crammed with 10's of thousands of items of military memorabilia it is everything i would like a military museum to be! Much, much better than fancy but formal museums like the World War 2 Museum in New Orleans or even most National Park Service displays at civil war battle sites. It's like a battleground after a battle, but all the wars and conflicts together, a real tribute to war vets. I'm going back as soon...

I've passed this place for years bur have never stopped. Went to visit with my son as part of a project for school and all I can say is WOW. You can spend hours in there looking at items and reading stories from every war.
