With family in Youngstown area for years, I have driven by The War Vet Museum for years but never went in because the hours of operation were so limited. Now they are only 10 am to 2 pm on Saturdays. So recently, when back to Ohio from Chicago, I happened to go by near their closing time, and decided to go in not expecting much. But WOW! What a place! Crammed with 10's of thousands of items of military memorabilia it is everything i would like a military museum to be! Much, much better than fancy but formal museums like the World War 2 Museum in New Orleans or even most National Park Service displays at civil war battle sites. You can spend hours in there looking at items and reading stories from every war.
