We moved away from East Texas about 6 years ago but have loved coming back to Splash Kingdom every couple of summers for nostalgia, as my kids grew up going to the park several times in a summer. I even remember when they opened and all of East Texas was so excited. It’s been 3 years since we’ve been, but we came by today after a visit to East Texas… and we were so disappointed. I don’t know if it’s an owner/management change or what, but everything was so dirty. The bathrooms needed sanitizing, there were literal cobwebs and bugs in the corners and back of the counters where the sinks are and we were there at park opening time. The lazy river had bugs and leaves THROUGHOUT and it wasn’t fresh foliage. It was clear it just hasn’t been cleaned recently. The wave pool drain at the beach entry had strings of god only knows what hanging off, just moving with the water. Dirt and used bandaids and unidentified trash bits and THE AMOUNT OF HAIR that was literally everywhere shocked us all. The park was NOT like that in years past. I remember seeing (in the past) park employees that would walk around sweeping up trash and cleaning things like lazy river/wave pool beach entry, etc. throughout the day, but they don’t seem to have employees designated for that anymore. And it shows. My kids’ were sad to see Splash Kingdom is not the clean and fun park it used to be, but instead it looks pretty rundown with some slides closed and things that need painting and or a general refresh. I’d be willing to overlook some of it if it were late August and they were about to close for the season but it’s only June. We ended up just sitting in the shade and reading most of the day because we were so put off by the yuck in the water. There were maybe 15 inner tubes available in the whole park for the lazy river and wave pool so most people just walked around the lazy river which seems to defeat the purpose. But apparently you can “rent” one of your own now. They only had about 8 mats available for the racing slides which is crazy because half of the time you’re in line waiting, you’re just waiting on someone to bring up a mat. There used to be plenty so people could take up their own mat as they enter in the line. Same with the big slides. You have to wait forever in line for an inner tube and then wait again in the slide line.

Also… since I’m already on this train… it was super frustrating when we pulled up the menu online to see what we wanted to eat (as the website suggests) and then were told almost everything we tried to order was no longer served there. Update the online menu! Super sad to see what’s happened to this park and unfortunately, we...

We like this place a lot. First off I have never been here before. We brought the kiddos and they had tons of fun. Several things to do. 2 really high two person slides but one can go if you want to. 2 almost as high slides that are also fun. Decent size wave pool with good waves. There is a huge kids section apparently recently remodeled. Good lazy river but it’s only 3 ft. I would prefer a little deeper as I am 6’5”. There’s another slide section on the opposite side of the entrance and a set of volcano type slides too. As you can see in the video there’s a mat race thing that is fun. There’s also a surf type or boogie board ride with great water pressure but it took us a little getting used to. There’s plenty of food and snacks to be bought there but it is pricey as you would expect but it’s very good food. From what we got there are cheeseburgers, fries, chicken strips, popcorn and cookies, pizza, snow cones, mini melt ice cream (we used to call them dip n dots), Pepsi products and water. I would definitely recommend the drink wrist band just because it’s $8 and free refills all day or around $3 per drink if you don’t have the band. Also they have a $20 cooler pass where you can bring snacks and food if your own. Whatever you can fit in the size they allow you to have you can bring in but there are some restrictions. Get on the website to know what’s allowed and not. If you don’t use the cooler pass the only thing you can bring in drink wise is water. We did almost everything they offered but close to closing it did start lightning so we couldn’t do everything but we spent over 4 hours there. Bring cash because apparently if you use a card there’s a small extra charge. Coded storage lockers are $10 for all day and I always recommend just because you don’t know who may or may not take stuff. Always better safe than sorry. Best part is that it is not insanely crowded like a massive water park. Lines went pretty quick and weren’t backed up from the top to bottom of stairs. Plenty of shaded spots to sit if you want or spots in sun and seating all around. No reason you shouldn’t have a spot. Also each ticket you buy on the back has a free whatasize upgrade on meal at Whataburger. We used ours tonight after the park. Recommend going here if you live around rather than driving forever away and spending much more for less fun. We will definitely visit here more often in summers when we have a day or even half a...

Updated 08/24/2025 It's fun, but issues are pretty much the same as before. Internal lock has been added to the "family" RR, but no signage or instructions to close and lock door behind you as you would do with a single occupancy. Since it is not single occupancy, people don't think about it. As of the last time I used the main men's RR this season, the showers still don't work, and shower curtains have been removed. They claim it is for safety , but there are fewer places to privately change. So the creeps can watch you in the open instead of behind a curtain? I don't get it. With as much chlorine as they put in the water, I need to rinse off before I leave, or my skin gets irritated and dried out by time I get home 45 minutes later, and that's if we don't stop to eat.

Updated opening day, May 25, 2024.

Rough opening day. Main men's room, ADA urinal is broken with a trash bag over it. Stall walls look dirty. Men's RR by wave pool is now marked as family, but it has not been remodeled as a single occupancy. It is still open with a stall and urinal. Toilet seat is to small for the toilet, and there are huge gaps in the stall that face the toilet. I had at least 3 people look in while I was going through out the day, including a woman. I walked in to use the urinal while a woman and her daughter were washing their hands, and we startled each other. I think the idea was that they want people checking the other box under gender to use that restroom, but it just confuses the women, and made it less safe for everyone. "New" chairs are faded, scratched, and don't recline any more.

New season pass system is worse than last year. Wristbands with NFS chips for passes, and QR codes for guests and tickets. Made suggestions to staff at gate, but felt ignored. Gold passes need to come with a guest wristband with the QR code printed on them instead of having pass holders pull up an email. We purchased on Black Friday of last year, and never received an email. My wife's email also clears emails over 30 days old. They said they resent the email, but 45 min later, we still have not received. My wife tried to log into site, but it's not letting her.

This place is...
