Earl wandered into the Dish Warehouse looking for a single dinner plate to replace the one he “accidentally” frisbee’d into the dog’s water bowl during a Cowboys loss.
He found it—perfect shape, vintage floral, only $2. He held it up, admiring its glory. “You’re comin’ home with me,” he whispered.
But as he turned, his belt loop caught a stack of saucers. Like dominoes dipped in regret, they crashed to the floor in a symphony of ceramic carnage.
Silence.
The clerk peeked over the counter and deadpanned, “You break it, you buy it.”
Earl sighed, looked at the mess, and muttered, “Guess I’m startin’ a collection.”
He walked out $74 poorer but richer in shame and mismatched dishware.
