Be careful of the port employees here if you are non-white. There were a few incidents that made us realize that a lot of negative experiences were happening to non-whites. Most of the positive reviews are related to cruise-line employees, my review is specifically for port employees (porters, post-cruise debarkation workers who were not cruise employees). First, they lost a lot of bags on our cruise. Of the 3 families whose bag was lost, all were non-white. It was the first time sailing out of PC for 2 of us. We spoke to two families who constantly went on cruises out of Port Canaveral and have never had bags lost, they were white. The treatment of port staff towards whites and non-whites was markedly different. One incident in particular, when lining up to get picked up by the rental car shuttles, the port employees were talking down to non-white families and almost yelling at them "no rental cars were available" while being a lot more thorough in helping white families. Thank the good Lord we had reservations and when we got to the car rental location , they had plenty of cars available. Just so you know what to expect, all bag porters are white males in their 30s and 40s, most other port employees are older (50s or 60s) white males and females. If you are not white, take the following precautions: Tag all your bags before you get to the port with your stateroom, ship, name, and home address. Put locks on your bags. Don't expect any type of guidance from cruise-line employees in port, they seem to hire locals who are of the same quality of human being (the passively racist sort). Either do your research online (things like what to do your first day on ship, etc.) OR ask someone on the boat when you get on. The people on your cruise ship will be a lot more knowledgable and a lot nicer. Have everything ready for after your cruise beforehand. If you are expecting to get a rental car, be sure to have it ready/rented before you even get on the cruise. Expect no help from port employees here. If you are in an emergency, attempt to find a cruise...
Read moreI’d like to share my experience as it was not pleasant and overall very disappointing. The customer service experienced was disgraceful especially when something could have been done. My boyfriend and I purchased this cruise through Expedia paying through the year and anticipating such a relaxing New Years Eve after a tough year. Through all of preparation we never received info in a Boarding Pass and have been managing our trip through our Expedia account. We were able to prepare for our trip through videos on YouTube and Pinterest posts. On day of embarkation, we arrived at the port at what we thought 40 mins early. Just to be told at arrival that we were actually too late to board. The woman we spoke to Missy, spoke to us in not trying to help resolve our problem but prove our fault. I showed her our account on Expedia and she reviewed the Cruise policies just to see if there were any mention of arrival times... there weren’t. Much of the conversation was blaming Expedia for the lack of info and comparing rob Carnival. In my opinion, with advance in technology we could have accomplish so much in that 10 min conversation. At the end of our convo, boat began to leave and earlier than the time stated of 4 pm embarkation. She referenced the analogy of Airport departure times to make a point, however even in an airline they make attempt at accommodation before completely shutting you down. After all the money we spent and preparing for an experience, arriving 10 mins past (when fault was clearly not our own) we should not have been met with such hurried disregard. Something could have been done as it was a slow Sunday afternoon. This was supposed to be our first time on a cruise, anniversary vacay, and a great way to bring in the year. After this experience, I will not be booking a Carnival...
Read moreWish there where actual beds not couches. And no, it isn't a couch bed. The crew members are great. They want to make your stay very relaxing. I wish it was a bit more family friendly. When I went 2 years ago they had a family show after the second dinner, now theirs one at nine and a inappropriate comedy show. I don't think that's appropriate for children. The food was a bit under cooked. 4 out of 7 nights I had to send back my food because it wasn't cooked long enough. I really love Carnival Cruise lines, however after my last visit I was really disappointed. We had 3 people starring 1 room. Their was 1 bed and a couch. We ordered 2 beds and sadly only got one. The house cleaners gave us a blanket. The "bed" wasn't comfortable and took forever to fall asleep. I wish that the customer services would have been more understanding. When we wentz down to ask why when we bought our tickets we were told there would be 2 beds. There was a very rude man. He was practically yelling at me and my group. We went on the Magic ship. I feel that the bigger the ship the worst it is. When I went on the Pride ship they had a lot more to do and even eat. Most of the newer ships have foreign food, yet I know some people can't handle that food. Guys Burgers is amazing. They're super large and their fries are the best. I wish thought that you had an option to pick either fries or...
