Love it. Dog park is great. Park is huge. There's jungle gyms and slides and swings for kids. There's also a skate park now which is humongous. The kids love it tho. There are 3 baseball fields but they use 2 them for soccer now. The other is for little league baseball, I believe. They may not even use that field anymore. They have pavilions. The big one with kitchen and restrooms you can rent, if you don't want the restrooms and kitchen well then I just go up and do whatever we do. There is a bathroom there anyways. There's a few other pavilions that are just that. There's a little road you can walk on and go around the park. Lots of space. Dogs are allowed there too just not on the fields. The only thing I don't like. Carnegie used to use those fields for softball, for many many years, and they have the concession stand there also, and the bathrooms, the benches, and all that. Carnegie park always had people up there playing softball, kids and adults, teams or just playing around with friends. The children are able to go to park to play n u can see the kids from field to park so they can play while you watch a game or play a game. Renting the pavilions and cooking out and really having a great time there for many years. Then Carnegie decided to start using chioda field for games. Chioda sucks. It's only 2 fields and a concession stand, THATS IT!...
Read moreCarnegie dog park is a great little place to take your dog on a sunny afternoon. There's water available for the dogs, as well as baggies for when they need to do their business.
The dog park is actually separated into two distinct areas, one for large dogs and one for smaller dogs. This is really helpful when you have some boisterous larger dogs. The ground is actually a kind of pea gravel, and there are benches and chairs set around the perimeter so that the dog owners can sit and watch their dogs play.
The area is large enough that you can easily throw a ball quite a far distance and have your dog run and grab it, but not so large that you're going to lose your dog on the other side of the area.
The only issues I have with this place are the usual issues that would occur at other dog parks. Namely, dogs getting too aggressive because of their inattentive owners, and areas where dogs have done their business and the owners haven't cleaned up after them.
the one nice thing I will say about the area is that the gravel really cuts down on the amount of mud and grass at the dogs track back into the car. There are grassy areas as well, but these can be avoided with a little work and so you could even take your dog on a day with some sprinkles or light rain.
We definitely recommend this park, and both us and the dogs...
Read moreWOW is my review of this park. They hit it out of the park with the skate park here. I have seen many skate park being put in within the Greater Pittsburgh area but none to the professional scale of this one. During our visit I counted 6 out of state tags all on RV's that had travelled from as far as California to ride this skate park. Unbelievable. It's that awesome trust me. They have upgraded the rest of the amenities here as well. They have a great Pavilion area to host get together and cook outs. The ball fields are great as well. I am impressed with what this park has become. I will say though the skate park is not so much for smaller inexperienced skaters. My visit was for my 6 year olds to play in the skate park with their new found interest. Well it was crowded with very experienced skaters and was not so much room for the inexperienced. So not such a good place for the younger just learning crowd. But was still a very good experience for them. They got to witness what practice and hard work can pay off to be in the future. What a great place.A+ goes to Carnegie...
