We went to watch our kids participate in the Wyoming State Marching event. It's a great place to host such an event for all the participating High Schools all over Wyoming. And it's inside so nobody has to freeze or cancel the event because of weather.
Not only was each band fun to watch, they had other booths in the hallway as well. From custom shirts to the UW Band! We even got to watch them perform! That was a great way to bring the event to the end. If you ever find you have the opportunity to watch them don't pass it up!
They had concession stands open also! From popcorn and soft pretzels to Pizza Hut personal sized pies. No shortage of bottled water and fountain sodas and even sports drinks.
For the most part it was a good time had by all. The first time we entered and went through the security check, everyone was nice and friendly. During intermission we went out to the parking lot and when we came back inside, this security punk was walking twenty feet tall. Cool dude. I was asked to open my purse. When I asked what he was looking for, he told me in his big boy macho voice, "guns, knives, things like that." He apparently didn't know what a tampon looked like. He sure does now! Teach him to act bigger than his britches are. I'm glad he kept everyone safe from the tampons and we all...

I went to my son's wrestling tournament there and they had so few people working the entrance that we had to stand outside in February forever waiting to get up to the front of the line where we then saw a different line for tickets (this is a kids wrestling tournament by the way, we should have just paid cash like every other tournament does). Then on top of that it is 3 times more expensive than any other tournament to get into. Once in there there is no cell service, but it's ok they offered free wifi that didn't work at all so we kept having to run outside to update the website that let us know when my son wrestled. Then when I had to go use the restroom three of the stalls were out of order, one of the two remaining was extremely plugged, which left one that was functional stall for me to use begrudgingly because it was 9:30 in the morning and they were already disgusting. To top it off there was also no paper towels either...at 9:30 in the morning, there is no way they cleaned this restroom at all before we got...
Read moreFor a small town the event center is able to get some decent acts midweek and lots of events on the weekends. Parking is free, as far as I have seen. Traffic flow is not bad, especially compared to Denver Pepsi Center. Staff is always pleasant. Biggest problem is cramped seating. Got floor seats for Postmodern Jukebox which were a few dollars more, hoping it would be better than standard stadium seating. Wedged in such a tiny chair that nobody could move without bumping the person next to them. It was worse than airplane seats. I stood for the second half of the show. I will not go back until management realizes Wyoming is not known for petite men who sit on each other's laps. I recommend pushback from the community to improve seating. Speak with your wallet by not buying tickets. Its amazing how quickly management pulls their head out when sales drop. If nothing else, don't buy...
