East Bay Regional Park — Attraction in Castro Valley

The lake/pool is awesome!!! There's a fee to come into the park, per car, and also an entrance fee to swim per person. There's picnic areas with shade and without. They also have umbrellas available near the water for shade. You can also bbq. Staff is very nice, we had an amazing time!!! Very affordable, nice way to cool off without breaking your pockets. No pets, glass drinks, or alcohol allowed inside. Plenty of parking is available as well. Arrive early if you want a table or umbrella (families show up 1-2 hours before opening to ensure they get the spot they want), if not, bring your own tent and blankets to sit on the sand. This is a really great swimming hole for kids and adults! The sandy area was clean and great for our beach towels and playing. We especially liked the clean water which ran as deep as 5 feet. This is one of my favorite parks around. Nothing better than going to the park on a warm day. Sitting at the bench underneath some shade. There are also lots of places to walk your dogs.
