Polk's Folly Farm Butcher Shop & Farm Stand — Attraction in Cedar Crest

Went to Downtown Grower's Market and met Pete. His sons own Polk's Folly. I was looking for things he didn't have at the stand at The Growers Market but Pete told me they have it at the store. I live in the Four Hills area of ABQ and it took me 15 or so minutes to get to the store. What a wonderful place! If you want larger pieces they will cut it for you. They butcher frequently so always have most of what you could want. I wanted fresh pork belly and pork cheeks. Both of which they had in stock. I met two out of the three brothers while I was there. Both are extremely knowledgeable and they have not only pork, they have beef, lamb, yak and rabbit. Bison and other animals are available frequently. I love this place and go...

Polk's Folly is a breath of fresh air. Every peice of produce I have purchased from them has been exceptionally delicious and flavorful and you will not find fresher meat anywhere around. The members of staff I have interacted with have been very helpful and kind, not to mention funny. I honestly can't express fully how awesome I think this place is. 3.Oct.2025 I guess I've never had "real" pig meat before. I've never seen so much fat and so little muscle. For the amount of meat in the chops I estimate it at $50/pd.

Since I didn't look at the price for the ribs I have no idea, but it was 39.24 for the half a rack of ribs & 2 chops....maybe 3 pds.That's $13/pd. Average for quality meat. A bit steep for fat.
